How many strikers do we need? If COG stays and these 2 come in we'll have 5.

We're only looking at them, along with another half a dozen teams from the Championship and League One.

Imagine Hitchcock is the preferred choice as I believe he can also play on the wing.

Both have been mentioned, think Hitchcock his tipped to go back to Rotherham as they were the only championship side linked with him. Don't know much about Obika, but his goalscoring record wherever he's been has been poor. Suppose you can only do so much in a short loan spell mind.

These sound like John Cofie v2 and v3 - I'd rather we gambled on young players who have been playing regularly in League Two or even the Conference.

It seems managers are always influenced by the size of the club the players are attached to whether they are any good or not. Never seen them play, never actually heard of them, but they don't seem to have pulled up any trees.

The attitude of players on short-term or loan contracts is rarely the right one, seems like a waste of time and money to me but hopefully I'm wrong, as usual.

How many strikers would you think we need?

I reckon 5 is a good number of strikers to have for a long season ahead, if these two come in then that'll be good for competition & cover for injuries etc.

imho, this could mean the end of COG if these 2 come.

It's only the end of COG if someone stumps up enough in fee and wages, out of our control.

Didn't Hitchcock score 8 goals in 13 games for a team that were promoted from League One?

I might have made that bit up, but if true then it goes against your comment.

I would have Hitchcock first choice of those two. Only seen him on clips, such as Football League Show, but he looked a sharp striker with both Crewe and Rotherham. We may have the advantage of being willing to offer him regular starts in comparison to Rotherham, as he spent a lot of time there at the end of the season just warming the bench, from which he scored a fair few goals. Obike is still a work in progress by comparison. Hitchcock is more the sharp-shooter we will need.
