    Chesterfield League Cup 1977

    We were 4th Division they were in the 3rd.
    We won 3-0 Mick Mc Carthy scored on his debut, Peter Price got one and a player call Neil Warnock (what ever happened to him)got the third.
    We'd lost the first leg 4-1 so it was 4-4 on aggregate.
    Second match I went to was the replay,and that was a night match which was just incredible to this young lad.
    We went and lost 2-0 and a life time of boom and bust supporting the Reds was started.

    Where was I last week? No idea I can't remember :)

    I feel old seeing some o' t'threads below.
    Barrow - 1st game of 1968/69 season after we had just been promoted from 4th division. We lost.

    not right sure, i was only a nipper,
    but my dads mates mates mates nephew played for chesterfield and got us tickets, went to all 3 ties if i remember,
    i was a big clarkey fan and didn't start watching em proper til the next season

    the waty some of those pesky kids went on pitch at end and ruined it you would have thought it was their's! I blame the parents, many whom joined them.

    Anyhow, Scarborough 88 in friendly I think

    Promotion game from the 4th division.

    And I missed the promotion winning goal cos me and my Dad were half way up the hill to the Bus Station to catch the last bus home.
