Your own kids piccies at work rule..........A fecking joke...

Had problems with my emails at work last week resulting in losing all emails and new contacts from August 2007</p>

The IT bloke we use came in to try and sort it. After 2 hours he had done but told me that he had to take my piccie of William off my PC background as it is not allowed as the Child Protection Agency won't allow it and if anyone did come in they would should the place there and then and send everyone home</p>

WTF? I can't put MY pic of MY son on MY (works) PC? A fecking joke!!</p>

So that means you aint allowed to have photos of your kids on your desks either. Load of ******</p>

I choose to have the pic of William on my PC like i choose to put pics up on here. It should be MY choice, nobody elses

Child protection agency cannot come into a company and send everyone home cos you've a picture of your child as a wall-paper image. Excuse me for this, but I'm assuming it's not indecent.

Someone making a ludicrous rule about pictures of your own kids on your PC has NOTHING at all to do with some of the other 'PC' things you are no doubt referring to. In fact, its more likely linked to the hysterical (not in a funny way) coverage of paedophilia by the tabloids, the very papers who also rail against 'political correctness'.

But if you want to have a little march, you go enjoy yourself.

A few points though to be fair

It's not your PC, its works.
The Director needs to know what the agreed IT policy is and if its no downloads etc....then he is out of order, regardless of his position.
