The fact is, there appears to be universal satisfaction on this particular forum at the moment. And its been like that since Hull really. Even after Bristol, it was only your interview that got fans - including me I might add - backs up.. so all seems rosey in the garden of Hillcroft. I personally, Im enjoying the journey thus far. The highs of this last 7 days have finally cancelled out those early lows. And I havent felt this optimistic, this content with everything ON the field, for such a long time. More than a decade for sure.. but am I surprised? Only slightly. Without saying things that some may see as me being c0cky, I have been patient, and given the management and players the time they needed. The fact I wanted em to get the job in the first place made me that bit more patient I suppose. But I believe any new manager - endorsed by me or not - has to be afforded the neccessary time to implement his strategies. Same rule applies for 10 new players too. And so of course I was more annoyed by a large chunk of our fanbase in August, than I was at the team/management.. And back then, the 'us' against 'them' attitude was in force both on the pitch and among the supporters. This forum had as many fans AGAINST the new era, as it did FOR it. I think we all felt disgusted at those consecutive home displays/defeats. But not all of us said the manager was clueless or out of his depth. And we certainly didnt - after 3 games - write off David Perkins, Jimmy McNulty and Matty Done.. I had my doubts about the latter two, oh aye.. who wouldnt have? But Perkins was evidently what we were looking for from day one. Some just refused to see it. But doubts are one thing, writing your new players off as 'dogsh*te' is another. Its embarrassing, and makes you look a lovely person when after a fair run at this level, after time to adjust, adapt and settle in, they now look the part... and cost **** all to boot! I will get stick for this post no doubt. But so be it. If we were at the foot of the table like Donny and playing soulless gash every week, the same folk I am referring to would be loving telling me how wrong I was.. thats how it goes. I just hate the fickle attitude of many fans. There's a guy who calls radio deedar, who spent weeks slagging Hill off. "Rochdale clown.. I never wanted him ere.. gone/down by xmas.. Im not watching em" Yet now, he's on the same show saying how Keith's done this, Keith's done that. And how this is great stuff to watch. Tbf though, he does start off by saying "I never wanted the guy really, but.." So yeah, it bugs me. Because you know that if we were losing games, he'd be laying into em!? But thats football. Nowt I can do about that unfortunately. But I shall finish how I started... and thats by declaring my happiness at the sense of satisfaction on our forum at present. Im proud of us for all coming together, and getting behind the club. They need us. And today was just reward for such faith and loyalty. TEAM BARNSLEY
You've said a lot, but I don't really get your point? People are allowed to change their minds, so what? To be honest, I couldn't stand the bloke at the start, his statements were all about bulling himself up and antagnising the fans for daring to question him, which I found be a somewhat bizarre way of building a bond with a new set of supporters. However they do say actions speak louder than words and his team is do all the talking for him at the moment. I'm very impressed with everything he is doing, I look forward to going to watch them or listening to them on the radio and I'm full of confidence. Cant give higher praise than that.
Re: You've said a lot, but I don't really get your point? I agree with all that and I still cant stand to hear him talking, his voice just grates away on me. I am enjoying the results, but I can still say I am not taken with the man, but he is getting the results so fair do`s.
Re: You've said a lot, but I don't really get your point? Oh I forgot to say Whitey, I agree , you are a better fan than me , I dared to have an differing opinion, how very dare I. I shall now only think what I am told to by your good self, unless H/T wants to say owt!
Re: You've said a lot, but I don't really get your point? Ok Mark. You do remember my ProZone thread dont you? Where I said I wasnt surprised that Keith endorsed it, and you had a pop at me about loans? You just cant help jumping in pal.. thats why I love thi! Hope you're keeping well, and I bet its a great night on the waters eh, after todays fantastic result
