    Punches like a lass.

Interesting to see what the authorities do here. Had it been at Port Vale or somesuch there'd be ground closures etc.

Wonder whether cole will get a long term ban too

For kicking him several times while he was on the floor.

did you see the boot go in from the right hand side, couldnt quite see who did it - and on a second look, also a boot goes in at the middle.

To be fair, if you run on there to have a row, then expect some shoe when it goes awry.

agreed, he's taken a swing, i think the player has a rigth to have a go back - only problem, they had a go back when he was already on teh floor witha few stewards on top of him.

It wa cole and drogba I think

Who should get a ban for it. If a opposition player took a swing at their player and then you run in and kick them while they're on the ground then its a ban. To do it to a fan when stewards are dealing with it is even worse.

If you are going to run onto a football pitch and try to assault

... a player whilst ten of his mates are watching, all of which are strong fit athletes then I'm sorry but don't come crying to me if you get the **** kicked out of you. He doesn't go on the pitch no incident.. as he did then anything that happens after that is his responsibility and his alone.

Wasn't it Steve Clarke or whatever the Chelsea Assistant is called who took him down.

I'd expect some hassle for him for a bit. Imagine the people looking for him.

Doesn't quite work like that although it ought to

You are allowed to use reasonable force in self defence. Mob retribution while someone is restrained on the floor can hardly be considered reasonable.

    Couldn't agree more

But the 'fan' could make a counter complaint of assault and would probably succeed. That's the sort of society we live in today. The criminal has more law on his side than the victim.

Lampard saw him coming so he should have planted his feet, ducked and thrown an uppercut as the fool lunged. Then it would have been self-defence, and the fool would have learnt a lesson, when he woke up.

    RE: one of those stewards

Haha That steward going down is right funny. He so wanted to get a piece of the action. He even had alittle dig at Lampard before his dive.

    What bad steward!!!

noticed there was kicking watching it live

got to be something done because he was already on the ground and it was completely un-called for. Of course these are famous players and the powers that be won't even think about handing out the appropriate punishment, an hour's wages maybe? I understand that the fan should never have been on the pitch but such disproportionate retaliation is unacceptable.
