I have lots of old video footage - mostly VHS format - that I can convert using a TV card in my PC. I want to edit the footage together and package ittidily(if basically) for Youtube. What I have in mind is a clip called something like 'the fabulous five' (Hendrie, Hignett, Ward, Glavin & Currie) or 'the Magnificent Seven' (maybe extend it with another couple like Parker and Chopra, or maybe Shipperly), before each player's clips start running I'd like to put a dark screen up with some writing (e.g. black background, 'Ronnie Glavin'inplain writing- background fades out, Glavin clip fades in) - maybe put some music behind it,I dunno.
I've never done anything like this before. How much does that kind of basic software cost? Anyone got any recommendations for affordable but effective stuff?
I'd love to get something put together that remembers the great Redsplayers of the modern era - then we could all enjoy the clips. I have some particularly good stuff of Glavin that is very rare.
Any help much appreciated.

RE: really? nt You being sarcastic? I use magix moviemaker - cheap and does the job. Pinnacle is a popular one - you could pick up a cheap copy from somewhere
