No more bonkers than any other group of delusional fools assembling in churches

in the borough and beyond, praying to a non existant entity, a fictional construct invented by men to control the actions and thoughts of men.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Agree that's how it turned out, but for my money, gods and God were to explain the unexplainable and to help us overcome our fear of death by offering something beyond it. What science can't explain, insert some deity to plug the gap.

Daily MAil on the ball - that was in the Chronicle about 2 months ago...cue the usual right wing rantings.

Yeah, I agree with that. Organised religion has been used to control people, and still is, but the idea of gods came from people looking for understanding and meaning in their lives. Although in the majority of religions there is a very short period between coming up with the idea of a god and using it to control the populace.

There can't be a God anyway. If there was all the slugs and snails in my garden would eat the bindweed and the dandelions instead of destroying anything I buy and plant in there.
