She came across as a complete bitch but when you realise that she never actually applied to go on the x factor and she was a special invitee of the producers who picked her song for her and told her to concentrate on the pink impressions then you have to feel that maybe she was right to be a little annoyed that they'd manipulated her and lied to her about what they wanted just to make good TV

And in your life you don't watch TV do you? Or is it just that you feel superior to others due to your television preferences?

SuperTyke my reply was not aimed at you but at the tv programme itself. Saturday evening tv is so dumbed down it is untrue. And to be honest i do not watch much tv at all.

Bag of **** programme. 40 minutes worth of adverts, phone in competitions and 10 minutes worth of singing. Dumbed down TV...for dumb people. Ran its course, just like big brother and all that ****.

There are a billion different TV channels these days showing anything from movies to sport, light entertainment to documentaries and the news to porn. There really is something for everyone.

I don't understand why people feel the need to criticise certain programmes and people who watch it simply because they don't like it. It's the same with music. People slate manufactured pop but they forget that that manufactured pop brings a smile to their kids faces so where is the harm?

You are a marketing executives wet dream, Super. A disengaged brain and an inability to think and form ideas for yourself. Like your fetish for the match-day experience, you need everything full on and all the time. It's not your fault, you have been conditioned by the previous generation - probably mine - to accept whatever fodder is force fed to you without question or dissent. You don't know any different, so you don't see the actual damage that is taking place and how such trite, cynical, disposable doses of 'entertainment' is not just robbing you of your money but of your conscious independent thought.

I'm not entirely sure how watching x factor robs me of my money or my independent thought but hey oh.

I'm also REALLY amused that you've just said that I accept things without question or dissent considering i'm the biggest moaner on here.

I have 2 young kids who love the x factor. I sit and watch it with them and don't mind it at all.

Makes me laugh how quick people are to criticise people who say they watch the x factor.

Yet if someone says to me that they watched a great documentary on the discovery channel, I don't say "fecking nerd get a life"

    because That's being a nob
