    Am I missing something?

Him & Quina joined on loan in one of the worst seasons I can remember & both had about half a dozen decent games & then both came back after the last international break & barely broke sweat. Basically gave up before we were relegated. Don’t get me wrong they weren’t the only ones but still he’s a hardly a Reds legend.

Why is he on videos alongside genuine reds legends wishing us luck for the play offs? It just seems really random.

Is it just because he had a song? There were some near me at Blackpool singing his name & Bambo Diaby (even weirder) at Blackpool.

I do think in general it’s a cracking idea to get Reds legends wishing us all the best though. Nice to see a few legends on there. It certainly raised my spirits seeing Hammill, Foster, Mads & co. & hopefully it’s shifted a few more tickets & makes the atmosphere a bit better.

It was a bit odd. Would like to see more legends and former players who have done well. The likes of Redders, Higgy, Stones, Trippier and Clint.

Could it be that he was a fairly recent decent player for us who younger fans may relate to more than some of the others?

it’s nice he was available and contributed.

That was Shirley Bassey who had a song. Or two.

Can't recall the BFC board ever being serenaded by the Ponty with Hey Big Spender

In fairness there’s Frieser & Hume on there now so it’s not just legends. Bassi just seemed really out of place at the time.

Stones would be the one. It’d be great if he did it.

Never understood the Ponte end love in with Bassi. Thought he was bang average.

Me neither, in fact, in some games I thought he was a little overrated due to fans loving his work rate. This downing tools thing really bothers me. It's so rare in football to genuine not care, even for personal pride. There's odd players like Brek Shea/Frimpong but very rare. Most lose confidence, form, knackered, but downing tools is just an easy insult to throw around when things aren't going well in my opinion

Edit - I rated Bassi btw, not a dig at him. Just don't like people saying players downed tools. I think the small snippets of former players are great little pick-me-ups. COYR

Bassi was skillful but extremely lightweight. He had some sparkle, but didn't have the physicality for the championship. If you play a few nice passes and look classy but the opposition storm through your midfield like a juggernaut and score 3 goals then you're not really adding value to the team, you just look nice.

Quina I didn't rate at all.

Was Quina the one who threw himself to the floor if anyone so much as looked at him or was that someone else?

Just looking at the stats from that season: we also had Claudio Gomes who started 28 league games (twice that of Bassi) and Remy Vita who started 18 league games (more than both Bassi and Quina). I remember virtually nothing about either of them.

Vita pleasantly surprised me when he eventually did start playing left back. He started off well and tailed a little though. Gomes is very forgettable, though hes started over 30 games for Palermo this season, so he clearly has some talent about him. He looked okay in spells but not sure we were the right club for him.

Claudio Gomes was like a Poundland Ngolo Kante

I actually quite liked him. Looks like he’s gone on to have a decent career

He was also the one who scored an absolute peach in front of the Ponte against Stoke. One of those players who remind me why I fell in love with football.

Thius. Him and Qinna were the high point of a horrible season, they had the right attitude and it's that which we'll need to win tonight. The more ex reds wishing us well the better in my book. Once a red always a red!

I thought he really tried up until the last international break & then I thought there was a few of them who seemed to give up trying before we were down. They then got dropped for the kids once we were down

He was the one who definitely had a bit of something about him.
