Did you know that we have to raise £2,000,000 a year to keep Barnsley Hospice open? Please support your local hospice by joining an event, donating something for us to sell, shopping in one of our 9 shops, donating some loose change or a note and by spreading the word that we care for patients in all areas of Barnsley and not just for those with cancer. Personally, I'm running the Glasgow 10K in memory of my Grandad to help raise money for the hospice. If you can spare as little as £1 then please do! http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/johnfahey87 You can also donate at: www.barnsleyhospice.org
A dignified death should be a right in a civilized society and not fall upon charitable donations. Collect some of Vodaphone's unpaid taxes Osbourne you spineless lovely person, £6b would do nicely to fund this cause. My Son has had his life touched by this recently when his girlfriend's sister in law a 26 year old mother of three died in the hospice. The support they give is invaluable. In the meantime sorted John and good luck mate
Agreed. My hard line would be a removal of right to trade if companies are found to be actively engaged in tax avoidance.
Abolish all taxes, total free market, people responsible for their own healthcare provision. Bring it.
Whilst I obviously disagree with that ever happening, if these Freidmanist berks really believe in his dogma, then that is what they should do. The closest an implemenation has come to the true Freidmanist ideal has been in South America's junta governments, that turned out really well...
Free will. If folk want to piss their money away on cigs, booze and Sky multi packages why should others pick up the tab when things go awry ? Introduce assisted suicide legislation for the lost causes like them big fat ******* that need gastric bands and we're golden. Money saved would then fund the buidling of state of the art Hospices and geriatric homes for the elderly to see their days out in comfort and security, away from sink estates and grasping relatives.
Nah, you can't build state of the art Hospices in a totallt laissez-faire society. If those that can pay want them, the market will provide them, if those that can't afford them need them either charaties will provide them, based on the generosity of the rich or they will die awful deaths.
I'm differentiating between the feckless who have the capability to look after themselves but choose not to and the old folk. Paid for by a levy on Tony Blair's income.
You can't. If there is no state and no taxation you can't do this. Let the market provide and those that can't pay, die.
Personal taxation. You lefties and your dogma that nobody should keep their money. Punitive tax on homes in Islington mind.
Who lives in Islington? You should keep "some" of your earnings, but share some with the rest of society.
Your lot. Pontificating 'socialists' who like to tell the minions what to do but do the polar opposite themselves. You're all the same.
