Apparently Mansford saying that is why season tickets are not available yet. We need credit card ones with photo on really.
Agreed. My neighbour has always said he wouldn't step foot in Oakwell until they get automatic turnstiles. For him, like many others in the Barnsley area, it's the means by which he enters the ground that's important.
Depends on how much they pay them I suppose. A number of turnstile operators for a couple of hours 23 times a season or an IT bod or firm contracted to the club to make sure they work correctly. Plus, I've never been through an automatic turnstile that hasn't also got someone there who checks my ticket.
I've been told that a lot of the staff that work at the club are been made redundant & that all ticket sales will be done online. I hope this isn't true.
Cancelled unfortunately, however the supporters club are running a kennel on match days. No away dogs.
I can reliably inform all forumites.... turnstiles will be manned....they will have a scanner to scan the credit card style season tickets and each hand held scanner will indicate green to let you in or red to not let you in. the turnstiles will not be automatic as currently too expensive for the club. no current turnstile operatives have been made redundant and the club have no such plans as yet. hopethishelps
This is where the architects really screwed up when we went all-seater IMO. Had they applied a bit of creativity to their plans we could have redesigned the ground in such a way that access via turnstile was replaced with access via a firemans pole. As a club we could have used this as a USP to attract new fans - I think most would agree that fans would be flocking to Oakwell by now if we'd done this.
