He'll fail it as he's made of glass. @Gids1980: Understand talks between #barnsleyfc and #OAFC are at an advanced stage regarding the transfer of Jonathan Forte. (1/2) @Gids1980: However, Jonathan Forte has yet to undergo a medical at #barnsleyfc . He scored 15 goals last season for #OAFC . Would be a good signing if we can keep him fit
LJ seemed to get the best out of him last season so it's a signing that makes sense for me. With Winnall, Scowen, Hourihane, Pearson etc around him, you'd like to think we'll get the best out of him again. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Scored a few last season, bit of pace about him and LJ got him playing well last season. Decent signing in my eyes, but hey ho each to their own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
must admt, i was a little underwhelmed when i heard. But i reckon he will score a few and cant see him costing a great deal, so could be a shrewd signing. Hes probably the pace LJ was mentioning the other day.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Johnson argument rumour stems from this signing i.e. Johnson wanting to sign a player who: is old has a bad injury history has a poor record we are having to pay money for (I hear £120k) BM/PC tells him that it doesn't fit in with their plan and would be a bad signing to make and doesn't fit with our strategy. PC/BM would be absolutely right - all the signs are that this would be a poor signing and waste of money.
Pacey winger/forward scored goals at this level and manager knows him well and got best out of him last season...
Re: It wouldn't surprise me if the Johnson argument rumour stems from this signing So based on him being 28 and has an injury record proves hes a bad signing? He hasn't even signed yet ffs.
Players should be required to pass the BBS board of approval before the medical. If they pass these then LJ gets the green light to proceed. The BBS criteria are. Cost of player Age of player Reord of absence Previous clubs Hairstyle Can the surname fit into a song. Have I missed any?
Re: It wouldn't surprise me if the Johnson argument rumour stems from this signing I aint buying it that the hierachy ONLY want young players with resale potential playing. Anybody who knows owt abart football knows you have got to have some experience, and quality is quality, whether it be 21 or 31. Surely people running the club arent that naive.
Let's just see how he performs before jumping to conclusions. Most of our best signings seem to be 'underwhelming'
Can't say that I'm excited about it but he may turn out to be a success. I sincerely hope so and best of luck to the lad if he signs.
Re: It wouldn't surprise me if the Johnson argument rumour stems from this signing I know he hasn't. Yes - he has a record of injuries and a very poor goal scoring record for a striker. Am I not allowed to have an opinion on whether he would be a good, bad or indifferent signing? Happy to be proved wrong!
Re: It wouldn't surprise me if the Johnson argument rumour stems from this signing I never said you cant have an opinion
its as relevant as the fact he had 7/8 poor seasons before that and scored once after chrimbo. He is an ok signing to make up squad numbers and will do a job off the bench.
