Neil Warnock said in the post match interviews that Radio Sheffield texted him during the match saying Cardiff should have had a penalty for a handball at 2-1. Radio Sheffield have denied that they texted him and have coaxed him onto tomorrow's Football Heaven to say so. They are getting some grief from Barnsley fans about it. Some of the tweets are suggesting that we don't understand his humour and that he was joking.

The point is that radio Sheffield have obviously had a conversation with Neil Warnock and he has explained things to them but rather than doing the right and just thing and clearing EXACTLY what happened and why he said what he said (something which they must know from their conversation with him) they instead decided to use this a an advert for tomorrow's show.

'We know exactly why he said what he said, tune in tomorrow to find out more'.

It is unprofessional from a publicly funded organisation who have a duty to the licence payers. What they and specifically rob staton are doing is using an unacceptable situation as the radio equivalent of clickbait

I hope people dial in and debate. Would hate for this just to be painted over without at least a comment from someone. I asked Rob Staten if the club were invited to the debate. His response being 'why, what would the clubs say'. I would. Have thought that they would be wanting to give more air time to their clubs rather than to opposing team managers. One of em appears to be lying. Be interested to see if we find out who.

It probably will, but watching the video interview it clearly wasn't said in jest.

My guess is that technically neither f them will be lying. It will turn out to be somebody like Paul walker who technically isn't a BBC employee so they can distance themselves

Of course, he has been buying the staff wine so clearly he will get his airtime. As for NW he wouldn't be on if both parties could explain it away. Maybe worth putting a complained in to the regulator lol

They are still judged on audience figures and if audiences were not big enough we'd lose Football Heaven. 6 days a week football coverage is quite unique in local radio, regardless of opinion on bias etc.

Who gives a **** if they texted him.

Must be quite sad if this is the kind of thing people focus attention on on the Sunday before Christmas.
