Yes I know there is another half dozen initial posts on this subject. But I haven't seen anything that's similar to my view. So here goes: I think he's been sacked because of issues I reffered to earlier in the day on here - i.e. No one at the club having a grip on players contracts or understanding the value of players. As Chief Executive I would have thought this was his remit. Subsequently - gone. Now I do like the look and sound of arrr Maurice. As they say around here 'he ain't no pig taitti' - that is to say, the guy has substance
No, you don't need to start a new post just because you have a different take on proceedings. Just join in one of the other threads. Oh, hang on though, that wouldn't draw enough attention to you, would it? Forget what I said, I get it completely.
Why dont you do one you boring time wasting attention seeking crank. your windups are **** by the way.
The timing of his departure is very strange indeed so my guess is that whatever has happened was considered insurmountable. We'll probably never know for certain so it's all speculation of course.
Very true Although it does come at a time when the great vibes that's been generated by the club over the last 12 months seems to be crashing around us due to half the teams contracts being up for grabs - which has resulted with one of the leading goal scorers in the Championship just walking out of the door for next to nowt
I doubt we'll know the true reason why Linton left. What I do remember though is that he was head-hunted by Patrick for CEO when Ben Mansford left. Linton was Marketing manager or something along them lines before leaving the club. Then brought back to replace Mansford.
I'm not sure Linton can be held solely responsible for the contract situation and there is no irrefutable evidence either way regarding efforts to extend certain players contracts in the summer. If it is true that our players who are out of contract in the summer weren't even approached to discuss new contracts then somebody should be held accountable but again I've heard or seen nothing to substantiate anything.
Comments from Conor - saying something should have been done in the summer regarding contracts. As I've said earlier- the club is in a difficult situation just coming out of the 1st Division - IMO the club should have shown caution (if possible) by increasing salaries and trying to extend those contracts up for grabs by another year. Then importantly - informing the fans on negotiations- obviously excluding amount of salaries discussed.
Not sure I've seen those comments. Where were they made? Can you point us in the direction of them? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
