He's our top earner. Who knows, if we had offered that to Conor at the same time he might have extended.
Don't think any striker we have can play up front on his own. Thing is Watkins is very good where he's playing now.
Yes we knew the impending problem. But I just thought that sort of thing will be sorted out now - now the club has a direction and being run properly. I must be naive.
We need Morsy back or another CM in. Look most balanced with Scowen on the right. Id try Marley back upfront. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We definitely need to get the Morsy deal over the line. Prefer Scowen in the middle personally, think we need another winger to allow us to rotate.
The reason he didn't do particularly well (I actually thought he did as well as he could have done) was because he didn't play up front with another striker. If we'd played Winnall in that role today he would have struggled. Think if he plays with Armstrong or Payne he'll do significantly better, as proved by recent performances up front with Winnall
So we do what, double the salary of the 6 or 7 most important players as soon as we are promoted, and then we go down after 1 year. Then what? This club is being managed far better right now than at any recent time I can recall. Some players will leave for less than we would hope because they have got too good for us to be able to continue to afford them. That means that we have benefitted from that progress during their time here, and then, for some of them, at least got our money back close to the end of their deal. Even if others walk away for nowt, we have progressed as a club from them being here. I am struggling to see the bad here. Leave it to the people who run the club to run the club. They haven't been doing a bad job of it lately.
