Spot on Lil. All this anger needs to be channelled towards backing the lads to the end of the season, why spend another minute of time talking abart a Leeds employee. **** Leeds love Barnsley.
Didn't get a bite with your first dig at the new owners so tried again using the questioning of how the move to Leeds came about. And folk dig at Nudger....
I don't feel any anger towards him. 7 wins in a calendar year it abysmal regardless of anything. I'm pretty sure the players could have organised themselves and not done any worse. Heckys been helped by our culture of bashing the board at every opportunity. It's been ingrained in our fanbase for as long as I've been watching us. I feel for the fans that thought he was a good manager. I didn't, and I think he's still got it all to do.
He’ll have spent the last year with his Mrs, his family, friend & agent all in his ear ‘Paul this is ridiculous you’re doing 2 jobs, they’re selling all your best players, you’re working more hours than ever before having to coach all these young players & you could be earning 3 or 4 times the money at another club with a lot less responsibility. They’re using the fact that you’re from here to their advantage & taking the piss’. I hate that he’s gone to Leeds, I really don’t like that he’s took staff with him but do I blame him for going? Definitely not. If he wasn’t from Barnsley I think he’d have walked long before now after he was badly let down last January & in the summer with the appalling business we did.
He spoke out quite a few times about this when it happened and seemed genuinely angry about it. Funny thing is he appeared to have absolutely no problem doing the same when leeds came calling, by not only leaving but attempting to take the entire backroom staff with him. But lets not be bitter.....
Don't know about you mate, but the more I think about it the more I think we were all lied to at the lamproom.
That new contract means that Barnsley FC are better off though. Leeds will have to buy out a much longer contract, if he hadn't signed it he could have been bought out for pennies.
12 month rolling contract - they'd have had to buy that out. At least. And there was no 'automatic' right to talk to Hecky as there was once Leeds triggered the buy out.
Bugger me Redstar, a tha ok ?? We not going to have some kind of Michael Douglas in Falling Down situation on Grove St on setdi are we ?
Neither do I, I think we have a new opportunity for someone to come in and give us some attacking football to watch. Well thats what I`m hoping for. That board thing you are on abart, tha reight, but its a two way street to lay the blame to get yersen art of an oyl.
They agreed to it, they agreed to lose a manager for just 12 months compo. Maybe if they had insisted on a 3 year deal Leeds would have thought twice about paying that much. Perhaps Hecky insisted on a 12 months roller, I doubt that very much, a manager with a losing record like his would have wanted a much bigger payout when he got sacked.
