Wow what a day to return to the fold.. I was a member in here 5 years ago as Dodworth Red, I had a bit of a crisis in my life back then being diagnosed with a few things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.. and having a loving wife at that time who decided that she couldn't cope with looking after me, so she divorced me... yeahaaa looking back it was the best thing that could have happened to me.. I'm now exiled in Cornwall getting my life back together. and most important still alive... I am looking forward to chatting to Madmark and Big Lil so I might get started by suggesting Stuart Gray as our new Leader ... have a look where hes been over the last few years before anybody things Ive gone loopy.. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/sentimental-appointment-avoid.264237/page-2#post-2082765
glad you're sorted mate and welcome back. if you're near truro nip into the football club and say hello from trev hehehe
Sounds like you've been thru the mill mate trust me I both empathise and sympathise good on you for turning it around good luck with your health and new life.
Thanks for the kind words Jedi One.. Truro are about to be evicted at the end of this season... new Lidl store to be built.. Positive side they will get £2m to put into the pot for a new stadium for Cornwall due to be completed by 2020..
Thanks for the welcome back Lil. How is your family and Dodworth hope all are well, not that I'm missing Dodworth..
The family's increased in number, as our first grandchild, a beautiful girl called Amara, was born just before Christmas 2016.
Welcome back mate and congrats on turning your life around despite all the setbacks , long may it continue . Five years !! It doesn’t seem that long since but I suppose time flies when your getting old lol. Stewart Gray ? Not a bad shout I certainly wouldn’t be disappointed
Thanks Marlon, cant deny its been rock bottom where I was, but onward and upwards.. Although I could have done with out being diagnosed with prostate cancer in November.. hopefully we`ve caught it early enough to get it sorted.. had 2 chemo sessions out of 6 so all`s going well so far,
Sounds like you have been on quite a journey mate. Glad to hear you have survived. Btw you have missed nothing over the past 5 years.
Thank you. She's absolutely adorable, with such a wonderful smile and sunny nature. I believe she's exactly like me, but for some reason the rest of the family disagree! She had to be born by Caesarean, as her Mum (Becky) is slim and petite and Amara came into the world weighing in at 9 lbs 13 ozs.
Thanks for that Ian.. I'm in a much better place now. in both mind and location (Cornwall).. the body is probably suffering from a life time of self abuse, but hey ho.. we only get one shot at this life..lol
Yup, Kernow I used to drive through Truro on my way to RNAS Culdrose where I did an Exchange Tour flying the Jetstream for the RN. It's a lovely county and the Helzefran Inn near Culdrose and St Mellion Golf Club is well worth a detour for a pint if you are in that area. I have no connection with the pub but just saying it's a great quiet pub. Good Luck with your treatment mate and also welcome back to the "Fan(ny) Club"!
I`m just round the corner from Culdrose at Mawgan Hi Albert, Thanks for the good wishes,I live just round the corner from Culdrose, Mawgan in Meneage, You are right about the Helzephron Inn good food, great views out to sea.. Looking forward to visiting Mullion golf club this year, once I'm a bit better,
Glad to hear you're on the mend. Think I remember you from your previous life, always a well thought out post from memory. If you drift up to Bodmin moor at any point then you'll be in my neck of the woods.
