Bloody hell, that's awful if true. I remember him being the only highlight in one of our customary crap seasons (2001-02?). RIP, that's way too young.
Absolutely devastating if that is true. Similar age to myself and as someone who has struggled this past couple of weeks this is heartbreaking.
Gutted. What a sad way to start the year. Chris was a underated defender for us, made us some alright cash when he moved on and had a decent career. I am sure as a club we will do anything we can to help his family. We play Cardiff on 7th of March where we could have a minutes applause, invite his family to the game and do a bucket collection.
Awful news. Enjoyed watching him in a Reds shirt. A tragedy in any event, but especially in the circumstances suggested, if they turn out to be accurate. RIP Chris.
Terrible and tragic news, my stomach turned over when I started reading the thread. RIP Chris, and I wish your family love and strength in the weeks and months to come.
Awful news. I can remember seeing him break into the first team. It was a joy to see a youngster come through and have a positive impact on the first team.
Tragic news. I too remember him breaking into the first team. He was a decent player for us. Always a red.
If this news is true, can we all just pay our respects before you go about deciding what others should do? Awful news if correct. Tragic.
You ok mate? Always here if you want a chat or just to vent or anything and I'm pretty sure that there's another hundred or so people on here who will be an extra pair of ears should you need them.
Awful news. One of those players who just seemed a thoroughly decent guy. You will find plenty of Barnsley fans who rated him and plenty who didn't but I don't think you'll find a single one who had any I'll feeling towards him at all which when you consider how divisive players are says a lot about the man.
As if it even matters but I thought Chris was an excellent left back, and even emailed the club in disgust when he was sold to Cardiff - not knowing at the time the financial catastrophe the club was facing. Depression appears to have claimed its latest victim, I hope you’re at peace Mr Barker.
