As soon as the window closes and emphasis isnt on bringing players in we should be sitting him down for contract talks.

Come the summer he's got a year left and we can't let that happen.

2 year extension. Back our coaching and player development to turn this lad into a £10 million player.

Won't happen. He will get developed and snatched up while the club/ majority of this board turn their palms up and say nothing could be done

He's taken his opportunity for games. Hope that others do the same when given the chance.

Can't believe he's the same player as Ryan Hedges - played 8 - not looking any good - 2016/17. He's started brilliantly this season

8 appearances most must have been substitute appearances. Another good bit of scouting by the looks. 3 goals in 4 and played a big part in the Bradshaw goal v Ipswich. It will give hecky a headache when isgrove is back.

Let's hope they have learned their lesson, they hadn't done with Roberts contract.

I think we always planned to offload Roberts - Our model is to sell players after developments - If we had extended Roberts contract by the time we came to sell in a couple of years he would be getting a bit too old to command a decent fee. Its the players who are a bit younger we really need to hang on to longer - we just get them to be decent then they are off. Sp back to your original point - If Hedges continues the way he started this season we should be sitting him down in September and offering him an extended contract.
Been a bit of a surprise this year - never impressed much in his cameos last season

Think the games moved on from the old addage of anyone approaching 30 has no value. You see 30+ players going for multi million pounds now as people are chasing instant success rather than latent potential, future value etc.

Robbo is 25/26. He'll be in his prime at 28/29/30 and so would have commanded a much higher fee then.

But what's gone is gone. Personally think it was a huge error to let him go so cheaply when he wanted to stay. We just have to hope Lindsey and Pinnock step up to the plate quickly this year to challenge McDonald and Jackson.

It will but it will be a headache that Hecky won't mind having. I can see Hedges being capable of playing a CF role too.

I hope we do start to do this but i just can't see it. We always wait until the player gets down to 12 months to go before we do anything contact wise.

Can`t fault the lad going forward but helping out defensively he just aint doing it, needs to take a leaf out of Hammill`s book.

I agree with you completely - I was giving the view that seems to be coming from the club I also think we should have kept him as he wanted to stay and we already sold more than enough players in the last 12 months

Selling Robbo was, in my opinion, a very shortsighted and poor move. At the very least he should have had a new contract and sold at the end of this season. We have created a huge risk as a mix of experience is needed at the back.
