........... we all knew there were going to be days like these ............ and I'm expecting there's going to be quite a few more of these days to come. We are not going to get into a rhythm for a few weeks after the transfer window closes. The club is starting a new season with nearly a NEW SQUAD and with players that have not been tried and tested at this level. It's going to take time - hopefully Hecky can get it up and running sooner rather than later. But what I've seen so far at home there are signs that we could be good this season.
Equally, there are signs that we will be bloody awful. Just have to HOPE that this "rhythm" is found sooner rather than later...
Good interview with Hecky on Radio Sheff after the match that puts everything in perspective. It was always a big ask - going into a derby match so soon at the beginning of the season with a nearly new squad. And after all what's been said - we still only lost it 1-0.
I didn't expect our start to be much different. So far we have had 9 debutants (10 if you count Hedges 1st start) with another 5 or more to come. You cannot hope to fashion an effective side with that amount of upheaval. New players shouldn't be written off after 4 games. All have shown promise and much too early to judge, they are not seasoned Championship players. It is hard to take but it is a very long season and what we do have is a superb coach and a big squad with the back up of some very talented U23s. There is still much to be optimistic about and there is certainly no need for panic.
Just a bit worried about tactics and selection tbh. Hoping it's because he thinks things will come good and persevering or players needing time in his opinion. Because players running past us at will time and time again with seemingly nothing done to stop them just doesn't seem right . I know players need time and their young etc but at least show willing.
Agreed. New squad but the same coaching team. Hecky sounds up for it. We have to be patient. We've showed promise and we will get better with more players yet to come back.
