There are things in our life called manners, politeness, friendly ness and decency, these things should be a given in communicating on any forum. If you deliberately set out to upset, wind up, put down others for your own amusement and don't stick to the above standards then you have no rights to be on any public forum or psrt of ant social engagement. I don't put up with it at work or in my family or social life and certainly try my best to not purposely upset anyone ,on here all you can do is ignore it and not respond to it, if we all did that then the debates and threads would be so much better and the main culprits would no doubt be less frequent. People can disagree and have a debate without being offensive. Free speech and saying what you want is not acceptable if it causes upset. I'm sorry if this rant has upset anyone

I think it's absolutely spot on.

I know we can all be guilty of letting things get our backs up, but I'd like to think I could count the amount of people I've had disagreements with on my regular forums on one hand. And thats spanning 23 years of internet usage. Sure, when I first got online and i were 13 years old, all I did was troll, but i soon realised the 'net was much more entertaining when you didn't act the *****.

Also although I can see why he has had to be outed, it's a shame at the same time. If he didn't become negatively infatuated with whoever was the fans favorite at the time(which I believe he did on purpose, for the record), then he would have been a brilliant member of the forum as he loved to debate about sport...

As a relative Newby I found ht entertaining and only replied to him with short precise questions and didn't get involved in long responses .
Maybe that is that the answer .

Still don't agree with his ban. Would have liked to read his views on today.

We know what Hemsy would have said. Every player was gash apart from the ones we've got from Premier League clubs. Oh...and Hecky would have got some stick too.

I've come back to this thread after reading on another thread that Hemsie had been banned.
I agree totally what you have said here.
The message board is a vechile for school yard bullies to jump on the band wagon - someone slags someone off and they all pile on.
Admin are turning a blind eye to this.

I don't read Hemsie's threads because he talks daft. But that's my opinion.
If you don't like what he writes - then don't read it. It's that simple.
But there's no harm in him.
And he has an opinion that I respect - and that is something that is clearly lacking from this message board - RESPECT.

Go on then - explain the real reason why I defend him.

    This should be a cracker.

As far as I know(and thats only what I've picked up from reading on here as I wasn't very active at the time), he(allegedly) decided to make some defamatory comments about an ex player, who then got a solicitor involved. Like I say, other members of the board would be able to tell you more...

He made disgusting comments about bobby's wife and she got upset about them. After that he rewrote the 'oh bobby hassell' song into one much more derogatory about her and told both him and her to "Get back to chesterfield" and said (and I quote) "Wonder if is wife will be chatting poo tonight"

Personally speaking I don't care whether he's been banned or not. I get the free speech argument. We also all know he persistently ignored the warnings he received and he did troll the board.
I found much of what he said to be, frankly, ridiculous and expressed in terms of such arrogance at times that it drove me nuts but I was prepared to challenge him on it rather than suggest he was banned.
But as for the accusations of bullying....that's rubbish. He knew perfectly well what he was doing with his posts. He deliberately started posts to meet his agenda and wind people up. Fair enough, but don't then turn round and suggest he was an innocent party in all of it.

To be fair, hes brought the ban on himself, ive lost count of the amount of times i offered him advice on putting across his views , views which to be honest whilst forthright were at times aggressively so and in many cases wide of the mark and upsetting to some. Advice which got ignored might i add and which also failed to gain a reply, just like requests other have made when questioning his motives and sense of belief
Yes in the past ive called for his bans to be lifted, not because i agree with his comments rather the more diverse views the better the debate,
The better the debate the stronger the board becomes, that said and most are guilty of chucking in a line in, here and there that either hijacks the thread or takes it off at a tangent through light hearted banter.
Do i agree with the present ban, that for me is the million dollar question, by banning folk and their misguided belief system are we not in danger of becoming the happy clapper clique that everyone denies to belong to.
In the majority most have their favorite posters or should that read hold mutual respect for certain posters opinions, and conduct themselves in a manner beholding to the rules, rules that we can all at times bend.
In phils case many believe he not only bends them but twists them to the extreem.
The replies to his posts to a larger extent are more abusive than the actual thread he posts, such is the case, yet no one gets banned or warned as such.to my knowledge.
Its not for me to challenge Gally and the admin staff whos job at times is impossible to carry out and please everyones views and opinions that they hold and i respect their decision, even if i dont agree at times .
The views and opinions fall into the category of persnal responsibilites to not only the self but to others too, something that phil and a few more would do well to take onboard and act on.
Maybe given time Phil might reflect on the personal responsibility part because if he had he wouldnt keep finding himself in the situations he does.
