Well, it looks like my 3 month "holiday" is at an end, and from today I become a work-slave again. It doesn't seem that long since travelling to Barnsley Hospital for the hip replacement op and I was lying on the operating table listening to the Goon Show and the sound of someone hammering and sawing away at my hip. I wouldn't say it has been easy recovering, but it has definitely been worth it. To have no pain when walking after years of suffering is unbelievable. So thank you to the staff at BDGH who carried out the op and looked after me. Thank you to my family and friends for being there when I was immobile and needed help and encouragement. And also a thank you to Barnsley FC, who allowed me to use the Disabled Stand while on crutches. Much appreciated. So Northern College, watch out, as I've 3 months worth of sarcasm and humour, locked and loaded, and ready to fire! Hell, I might even do some work!
That's great news bud. That time seems to have flown by. My op has been postponed due to the fact I've got to have some teeth removed because of a gum infection. Looks like early 2018 before I have mine done now. Know what you mean about pain. I have trouble with steps. My son phoned the Club before the Villa game and asked if there was anyway we could avoid traipsing from the Car Park round to the East Stand concourse. Along with other disabled fans , they let me through a gate to the right of Redfearns Bar, which takes you down the Ponty Road end, through a little gate and straight to our seats in the East Stand Lower concourse. Fantastic facility. Thanks very much for that Admin. Much appreciated.
Never stopped! TBH the BigLils helped a lot when I was unable to get out for stuff, so I'm grateful to them all.
I'm fed up of Crystal & Laura telling me I'm far grumpier than you, without having to deal with any of the problems you've had to!
