So many different debates going on at once. All I want to know is what signing will someone consider exciting that we can realistically sign. People say Ashley Fletcher isn’t exciting and he’s probably just past realistic unless we do some serious convincing. So again, who can we sign who will be considered exciting and has the experience required for people to thing he is good enough to improve us immediately? Just one name would be great.
Without knowing the finances I can’t say. I suppose it makes more financial sense to stockpile punt after punt and throw 50% plus away than sign more quality FWIW I’d be reasonable excited by Fletcher signing. I think he’s a decent player although perhaps doesn’t fit the ready test. Perhaps that’s just nostalgia talking
Absolutely loads of here including the recruitment team were very skeptical about signing Adam Hammill. He’d recently been done for beating a women, was known to have alcohol and anger problems and hadn’t played well for years. I was excited about it. Many others weren’t.
Ashley fletcher would be a great signing. Not that he would want to swap a promotion chase for a relegation scrap but Sam Morsy would be an exciting signing. Looking at the possibility of resigning Watkins would be a great signing. I have no idea of budget and no idea of whether even stretching it would make that realistic.
Hehe like ******* clockwork that question as l predicted earlier. Excellent response, what's Hecky's budget?
I thought it was a great signing at the time but some doubted that he had changed. That wasn’t my question though. You said that box office signings weren’t successful. He was our last box office signing do you think he was successful?
Come on he definitely was. In fact little Lee Johnson said those exact words to me in person. We amended the wage structure for him due to his experience and quality.
Joe Williams would be box office to me or Gary Gardner. Someone posted about Jerome Sinclair. If that happened that would be one of potential which may then become box office. It’s all about opinions
You are just twisting because we signed a box office player described as such by our then manager and he was successful. There will a,ways be some people who criticise any signing it doesn’t reflect on the quality of that signing.
Is Chris, Hecky? Or is it one of Heckys kids? He writes a little bit like a kid. But he knows too much. Maybe it’s Rob Knowles. I don’t what’s happening since I started reading this ******* thread. It’s intrigued me greatly but now I’m getting the urge to be the Unabomber.
Twisting what? You just said we broke the wage structure to prove to me that Hammill was box office. I’m telling you he wasn’t even the highest paid player in the squad.
Chris, are you expecting any other activity this week other than the French lad? I would love a centre mid and striker then a keeper at some point before the end of the window and I would put that down as successful
I don’t have to prove to you my little friend. Pretty much anyone will tell you that Hammill was a box office signing. I believe Patrick himself did at one of the get togethers. Anyway back to ignore.
