So says the Swansea chairman.... According to Scottish Sun he earns 20k a week and whoever pays the most will get him. Firstly - £20k a week for someone who hasn’t scored above L2? Secondly - good luck at Sunderland then! Doubt we’ll beat them for wages
I'm surprised we're still in for him to be fair. I thought with us signing Moore, our interest in McBurnie at end (which it may have done). Personally I'd like some pace in the front line to stretch teams a bit more and stop them holding such a high line against us.
Agree entirely. Moore is the targetman. Pace and strength please. Let's not forget Thiam could be out so may need two strikers!
I remember the chairman at Palace saying the average wage for (fully Pro)teenagers in the Premier League was ~£18k/w. He mentioned that they promoted 3 18 y/olds to just train with the first team to see how they cope, and all three of them had their agents in within 3 days demanding wages in the region of £18k...
I wouldn’t be so sure. Sam Gallagher at Southampton is on £18,000 per week. Birmingham City secured his services by covering his wages plus paying him an additional £20,000 per week.
Where this £20K figure come from? Premiership Clubs don't chuck money away on a L2 strikers. Until he is proven he won't be on much more than a top L1 player. PL ave £ 2.6m, Championship Ave £195K, L1 £67.8K, L2 £49.6.
That's ridiculous. I wish salaries were stated as annual salary, not per week. £18k a week BASIC, is £936,000 p.a. Crazy
Was in the Scottish Sun. Alan Nixon and McBurnie know each other seemingly, so it’s one transfer Nixon seems to be on the pulse with. Imagine he’ll end up at Sunderland. Just hope we have a winger and striker lined up who can give Hecky a fighting chance to put some results together
Swansea Chairman saying McBurnie going on loan to a Championship club. What's all this rubbish about cost of wages???!!! Get used to it - it's called beng competitive
Pay him 20k a week for the next 20 weeks or so - what's that 400k? Could be the difference between us staying up or going down IMHO - if we get him I think we'll see 7-10 goals from him and we'll stay up, if we don't then its touch and go. He's not breaking any wage structure either as he's not our player.
Totally agree. I don't have anything against the top players earning the money they have, after all, if they didn't get it the money would just go into the owners pockets. But for kids to earn in the region of £1m a year without kicking a ball in the first team is just obscene.
According to inside sport wales, he is coming to us if Swansea if they can get Ayew in, sounds similar to summer
It passed obscene about a decade ago sadly. It's just being reported Ozil is going to sign a new deal worth £350k a week.... or £18.2m a year It all cascades down too, and the quality (in my view) is pretty bland and insipid, I don't watch anywhere near as much general football as I used to.
I think anyone who is trying to tell this forum what players earn is deluded or just trying to make everyone else think they are someone special.....Out side the clubs and more importantly the Manager Player chairman and agent nobody knows how much a player earns . We have no clue how much the reds are earning and we never will so why do people think they know personnel info...DO YOUR WORK COLLEAGUES KNOW HOW MUCH YOU EARN
Nobody is saying they know exactly what a player earns. All any of us have to go on is what is reported....
