Face like a wet weekend and possibly the most miserable man in football who puts out teams playing horrible football. No thanks Mr Grayson.
Both mentioned by OP are good options. Would love Nigel Pearson myself and he has been out of work a little while but did great at Leicester and was a little harshly sacked though it turned out well for them in end. But I do not think he will take the job with his links to Owls. After seeing people mention that Graham Potter on here and reading up on him he could be a good option maybe, if he would be willing to move back to UK that is. Seems to have worked wonders with a little known team in Sweden and taken them from 4th Division to top league out there in a short time and won the Swedish cup which got them into Europa League where they recently beat Galatasaray 3-1 over two legs. When the rumours that Hecky was leaving first came about I was worried as I didn't think there was many good replacements out there but after him leaving there does seem to be plenty of viable options.
I can honestly say I haven't the foggiest idea who I'd like to be the next manager, what type the board will target (young, old, experienced, someone looking to make their break into management, big name in football terms, complete unknown, an internal appointment, British or continental), or who actually wants the job.
Way I see it is it’s not a bad job prospect. We go down, hecky’s 16 game **** show is to blame. If we stay up, then the manager will have a chance to take a pretty solid club up the table and into the playoff places within a few seasons. The financial backing is there, the fan base is there, there is probably just enough quality to stay up, and likely a lot more quality to come. No debt, well run, loyal fans, no crazy expectations. Slightly underperforming but not impossible to fix. That sounds like a dream job, no?
