Ended up on the deck again on the final bend. She'll end up with a cauliflowered ar*e at this rate. Being stretchered off.
I feel sorry for her, but there comes a point at which someone needs to take a good look at her tactics and technique - it can't just be "bad luck" everytime.
Lizzy Yarnald Gold and Laura Deas Bronze medals in the skeleton make up for the disappointment of Christie falling again.
Oh god! she did it again! Got herself out of position and paid the price. If shes fit enough to do her last event then i reckon she'll lose that anall, head will be well and truly gone now. Well done Lizzie Arnold and Laura Dees in the skelebob! Well played!
Poor lass fell in first run in the 1000 metres and came second in the re-run, only to be excluded for two yellow card offences for blocking. That's it now. She'll not get a medal. She will get a final crack in Beijing in four years time.
If she can afford to compete in four years time. Hasn't she now failed half a dozen times as a medal prospect, over the past two Olympics? I suspect her Lotto funding will be cut and given to someone highly rated who is younger and doesn't have so many letdowns to their name.
There's more than the Olympics. She's been winning World Championships and has a World Record to her name. She's no slouch.
Funding is based on Olympic medals. Sports that do well get their funding cut if they fail on the biggest stage of them all. We don't always do too well at Cycling, but always peak at the right time. If she keeps getting the same amount of help, questions will be asked.
Two lasses in our bobsleigh team just been on TV. They had their funding cut and set up a funding site on social media. Within hours they had received sufficient cash to buy equipment and cover their expenses to enable them to compete in the Games adding creedence to the saying.... where there's a will there's a way.!
I found Clare Balding moaning and making excuses on her behalf to be far more annoying. "It's not fair".
If she decides she has it in her to have another crack at the Olympics(which isn't a cert as she wanted to quit after the last Olympics), she will be able to get a personal sponsor. It's a brilliant feel good story and brilliant exposure for a company if she manages to bag herself a medal in 4 years time... Everyone loves a trier, and the British loves a plucky loser(take a bow, Eddie The Eagle!).
I saw a programme involving Eddie the Eagle the other day and I was struck by what a nice, unassuming and intelligent guy he is. Not at all the bumbling idiot he's often portrayed as.
Yeah, I saw that and said exactly the same to my missus at the time. TV and press seemed to make him out as a figure of fun to divert us all from the fact that we had very little to get behind in the winter games. At least he was having a go.
