It might not be the way to go every game but 433 worked well today against a poor side - full marks to Jose for identifying this and going for it from the off. We've dropped too many points playing safety-first footy against mediocre sides.

I can only presume that he made the decision to stick with the same plan from the Wednesday fairly early on.

Moore as a focal point for McBurnie and Thiam to play off; I dare say Bradshaw would have been effectual I'm that role. It also allows for a more attack minded midfield player to play that role without focusing too much on defending. Today it was Potts and although I do like Potts, I reckon Moncur and Mallan could be as effectual in that role.

I think the thing is, we have a side that is capable to finish mid-table in this division, but playing safety first has held us back.

I agree that it probably won't work every game, but we've home games with Norwich and Millwall coming up who it could work against for starters.

It's not safety first that's held us back.

It's that we've had sod all up front.

    Now we have a threat.

The midfield has been powder puff to be fair.

Midfield have not driven forward this season - and if you've got Williams and Gardner they can't - they've given that responsibility to the wingers.

    No wingers today.

Not been today so don't know how it looked.

    2-0 to us will do.

Good to see. A referee decision the other week and it might have been 4 from 6. Well done all.

How did the front 3 line up?

I think everyone can now agree and we can finally put it to bed now that we are a far better team with out Bradshaw in it.

Only if we have better options within a team structure.

We've had Moore from early Jan. Prior to that we should have changed the formation to suit the players we had. Not rocket science but the tactical genius that was hecky didn't. Do you think in the same position Jose would have stuck rigid to a system that wasn't working for over 12 months.
By the way I am over the moon today great result. Come on you reds.

Yes cracking result, in fact its so good Im going to change my avatar to a different away shirt of ours. ;)
Ive just realised that using the old 86-87 season away shirt was a bad omen because Burton also wear yellow n black shirts dont they!.

There's no way Hecky would have started any game with McBurnie, Moore and Thiam...least of all an away game.
