Carrow Road to Oakwell is apparently 160 miles and takes 3hrs 23 mins to drive according to the AA route planner, Given the weather conditions I think it will be at least a good hour and a half on top. I for one would not blame the ones in charge to make a decision by tomorrow night and postpone it. To me it makes total common sense, as the met office is predicting more to come.
I live in North Norfolk and I have a 4x4, no way am I venturing out in the car however, as Norfolk Red says the roads are shocking down here, 4 foot drifts on some roads all on top of 3 or 4 inces of compacted snow/ice. If the match is on on Saturday, there’ll be one st holder absent!
It took me a little over two hours to get home from Oldham the other night; a journey that usually takes an hour. There is no way I'd travel to Oakwell from Norwich with the conditions as they are right now. As there is little prospect of the weather improving it makes perfect sense to make a decision on Friday.
On my own this time so no option really. Wish it was only 90 minutes. Supporters bus had us at Reading 3 hours before kick off
Just watched the weather forecast and it seems that when storm emma moves further north it is going to dump another load across virtually the entire route up from Norwich to Barnsley in the early hours of tomorrow morning. I'll be gobsmacked if the game hasn't been called off by lunchtime today.
The weather in East Anglia is totally irrelevant. If its OK here it will be on. Remember taking 4 hours to get to Blackpool. M62, Woodhead etc were shut. Had to go via Halifax. Lovely in Blackpool once we'd conquered the Pennines but a nightmare till then
Pizza Hut was nice, though, in the end! In fact I wish I had stayed in there instead of going to the game...
