Formula 1 is not a sport. It is a test of cars/engines. If it was a sport there would be a draw to determine which car would be driven by which driver. As it is, it is a total bore. And the Champion is not......
So there is a difference then. Ta. I can't stand Lewis Hamilton and can't put up with hearing him and his excuses, lies or trying to take ALL the glory. I find his personality to be thoroughly unlikable. This is based on seeing him every other week for the last 11 years, hearing his unedited and unscripted comments throughout that 11 years and from seeing his written comments throughout that 11 years. It is nothing to do with how he is portrayed in the media, in fact I don't really remember any negative media portrayal of him. You may like him but it is my prerogative to dislike somebody based on MY experiences of that person over an 11 year period. Ps, I posted it on here as there are formula one fans on here just like how you post your dislike of certain political parties and figures. Dislike which many would consider hatred
I’ve watched F1 from the late 80s onwards and he’s the second best driver I’ve seen, after Senna. And I love his attitude. Opinions eh?
I'd put him in the top 5 but I'm not sure about top 2 but that's mainly because I don't have any particular order for my top 5. His personality grates on me something rotten. I can't stand people who are so smug when winning but cry like a baby when anything goes wrong.
Absolutely love to knock a winner from our own country. Nico Rosberg said earlier they drove the same cars with the same settings, but he couldn’t get near him.
I have never expressed a "dislike" or hatred of individuals, rather, I disagree with strongly their views and politics not the same thing . Please provide evidence to the contrary. There is a major difference. Don't try to be clever and argue semantics.
If I reveal confidential business information I get the sack. If my boss does it it's his choice. Seems pretty straightforward.
Reportedly been with Rita Ora and Kendall Jenner, so imo his taste has improved since Nicole, not that there is anything wrong with her either. By the time he retires he will be the greatest ever.
It does bug me that the drivers get almost all the credit in F1 when really their position in a race is already predetermined to within a few places before the weekend even begins because of the performance of their car relative to other teams...the only variables are mistakes and unreliability. Put a lot of these blokes in the same car and over the course of 100 races they would probably be pretty evenly matched on points. I think all the teams have these 'party buttons', it's just a slightly more aggressive engine map that they wouldn't want to run all the time because they only get something like 3 to use all season without penalty.
I would have to disagree. There are three levels of drivers in F1.There is a difference for example between drivers like Lance Stroll who are there because they bring sponsorship money and have limited talent, journeymen drivers like Bottas/Massa who, whilst talented, do not really add much in terms of development, and then you have the 'sought after' drivers like Vettel, Hamilton Ricciardo, who can take half a second off a car's lap time. - Drivers like LH and SV also provide excellent feedback to their engineers in terms that assist the development. In a sport with such fine margins that adds up to a lot in terms of final position in the Constructors Championship at the end of a season and therefore prize money and attracting sponsorship. To get the same increases in performance if achieved through technical development alone costs tens of million. All that adds up to the incredible amounts of money the top drivers get paid. I know its a circus but the main manufacturers spend millions because they still regard it as a major brand marketing tool and to a lesser degree a development platform for some tech than eventually ends up on road cars. As to saying it is not a sport, the top drivers have a fitness training regime that would put many athletes and footballers to shame. The environment they work in, particularly places like Bahrain, Dubai and Singapore requires super fitness and conditioning to work in high temperature/humidity/G forces where most of us mere mortals would wilt after a couple of laps.
