My daughter's boyfriend and his dad are coming with me to the match on Saturday . Both are Sheff' Utd fans but believe it or not are absolutely sound .The problem is that they want to sit with me in the home end . Dilemma is , should I sit them in West stand upper with the old boys, or buy them full PPE , crash hat and gum shields ?
Since the tickets are bought through your payment history, it's my understanding that if anything kicks off because you brought Sheffield United fans into the home end, you're culpable. Seems a silly risk you don't know who is pottering about the stands pissed up.
Assuming they keep their heads down and don't leap around if the Blunts score or give it the big one if we score, West Stand Upper is safe as houses. Unless they're wearing club colours, it's actually really quite difficult to spot where someone is from just by looking at them.
It's a sad state of affairs that this is the way things are though. I presume his daughter's boyfriend and dad are just normal people but yet they can't go for a ridiculously expensive day out with Plobby because some people think they are fair game for a smack.
Just two normal blokes who want a couple of pints with other like minded fans and a chat about footy . Gum shields it is then .
If they got tickets at the blunts end , you could still have a pint before & after the match with them , its not a comfortable situation for you or them , its not worth it , I have done something similar & I was on edge all match
Fair point . They are really philosophical about football and don't get too excited whether they win or lose . They just wanted to sit in a quieter part of the home end rather than be stuck in the middle if the away fans stood up all match. .
During the premier league season my mate bought his then wife a ST but she never attended a single game. Between us we got rid of the majority of tickets, mostly to reds fans but we also had sat with us fans of Arsenal, Everton and Wednesday. Never had any bother, but I suppose much depends on who you take and the people that sit around you.
