Perhaps we ought not have kept chanting this at Forest. Cos we need them to be sufficiently bothered next weekend. Perhaps we could send their supporters club a message to say that they are finally forgiven. Subject to beating Bolton, obviously. Otherwise, it's business as usual
If they turn up they should beat Bolton. Sounds like they were all over Brizzle today but just didn’t score. Even missed a penalty. Fair play to Burton and Clough. Never expected them to be in it going into last game. Really fancy them to get something against Preston.
Everyone else at the bottom have lost when we have so many times this season. We just need to match the results of the teams around us one more time.
Most neutrals would prefer Burton to stop up as would Derby and Forest very strong links with Burton although Brian Clough understood the effect of the miners strike on the Working class and was a big fan of Mr Boycott...
Always said that Nottingham is the centre of the universe, and there is nothing more worthy in their great city than their fine, twice-European champion football club. And, er, if Lee Tomlin heard me calling him a fat lovely person the other night, I urge him to understand that it was meant in the nicest possible way. Always rated you, Lee. Love you, Lee. Would rim you, Lee. xx
Think Karanka and Jose are good mates , so hopefully they will do us a good favour next week and beat Bolton
My dad's family worked in the Kent mines and said some of you lot were scabs!? Not a wind-up. Genuine. Should Gillingham sing it at Barnsley then?
The Kent NUM organised a continuation of picketing across the country, which delayed the return to work at many pits for another two weeks.[7] Arthur Scargill himself was turned back at the gates of Barrow Colliery in Worsborough when he tried to lead the miners back to work
That is correct but these were individuals as were some scab Kent miners . The Notts and Leicester coalfields ignored the previous strike ballot and demanded another ( remember the referendum) they we t back to work as an area and according g to them it was the Notts working miners who were wrong Notts area worked almost from day one
83% of Yorkshire's 56,000 miners stayed out on strike until the end. 80 of Kent's 2,500 miners returned to work. There was a hard core of 1,500 miners out of 32,000 who stayed out on strike in Notts. 73% of the Notts miners didn't strike at all.
I agree that it should be remembered. I think it is time to move on with the chant, as most Forest fans will have **** all understanding of it. Barnsley's modern problems have **** all to do with Nottingham miners.
Don't agree with scab labour but the issue wasn't as black and white as people on here make out, Scargill ****** up with the ballot, as he did with a lot of things.
Go on then list them. One thing is for sure, no-one outside of the Cabinet would’ve known is the extent Maggie and her cronies went to before, during and after the strike.
