12 June, Club news number unclaimed, prize money rolled over to £4000 to the next draw.....

21 June - Club news number unclaimed so we roll over the money to £2000 next week...

No details of a draw in between so where did the £4000 go?

I've mentioned this before but I've been a member since 1996 and won it once (thank you very much) and for about twenty years there was never a rollover, now it seems to be every other week or so, anybody know why? Surely not half of the members have dropped out in one go.

They just ought to change the draw somehow so only the taken numbers can be drawn, so maybe electronically.

My actual question which whitey is gonna try and find out is how come the £4,000 wasn't rolled over to the last draw. I'm presuming just an admin oversight.

Whitey - It would be better on the website if there was one specific results page in a more tabular format, than having to search through all the news articles, just update it with the latest one each time, along with the quarterly and annual draws. Any chance this could happen?

There was a winner of the £4,000 rollover.

    https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2018/june/centenary-150618/

It seems this wasn't published on social media.

Regards the Centenary itself, it was revamped last season and everyone involved in it will have received information on this. I can't say I'm involved in it enough to say much else, except that I believe it was felt that a rollover would make it more interesting.

As for your suggestion regards how results are published, it's something we've thought about. I'll probably take a look at that when I get a chance.

No number? Usually the report says what his/her number is and where he/she lives.in a tenuous link I live in Hampshire if the bugger hasn’t claimed!

I queried this a few weeks ago and was told in the past if the number drawn wasn’t paid they carried on drawing TIL they got a winner. They also said every member was notified of the changes, to which many people replied on the thread that they hadn’t been notified

Been a member since Feb 1993 so approx 1,235 weeks or £2,470 paid in.

I've won it once about 10 years ago, but I'm in a syndicate with 3 others, so £250 each. In total we've won 4 times, which adds up to £1,000 each.

Actually what I heard was that under the old system, if the number drawn hadn't been sold they paid the number below, which if true is blatantly unfair. However just a rumour what I'd heard. Perhaps Whitey could arrange for someone from the lottery office to clarify the position as I don't remember having any sort of correspondence re change of rules. Would be nice to know.

Sure I remember a tombola on the pitch where the number was drawn at half time. There was also a table with sheet of numbers they cross referenced and another number drawn if not paid up. But that could have just been the annual draw for the car.

I think that used to happen when all 1500 numbers were sold. When was the last time the number was drawn from tombola drum in front of crowd at home matches?

You could be right. Think at one point there was a waiting list to get a centenary membership. There used to decent benefits. Ticket priority, 10% off at Club shop. Discounts at various places in town. Annual draw for a car (VW Hayselden). Was impressed when they drove it around the edges of the pitch before the draw. Wonder if it ever got any coin damage, especially from the visiting end.

Can't remember us getting anything either. Can never easily find the result on the website either. Live in hope of winning it some day!

I'd love to know who wins these things because anecdotally, most people who conment about it haven't won the bloody thing for years, if ever. Same as me.
