I'm not for one minute second guessing the thought process of three separate managers on Mallans value to Barnsley FC, but it's a real strange one. Only played 3 times for Hibs (Europa League qualifiers) but scored 5 and has 4 assists to his name. Still only 22. I just think he could've developed into a real asset for us, especially with game time in L1. Anyways, that ship has sailed - so let's look forward but I will be keeping an eye on his progress.
The lad didn’t settle and wanted to move ‘home’. I’m not sure he was sold as they thought Moncur, McGeehan and Mowatt were massively better options - but they may be. As I say though, like with Knasmullner, I’m not sure he as sold because he wasn’t rated.
He shared a flat with Lindsay (2 jocks together), if he’d been utilised we would still be in the Championship imho.
He seemed really good at set plays but went missing in games for me. Wasn't ready for the championship but wanted to be playing week in week out. Besides Celtic and maybee rangers next season the spl is a poor league even Kane hemming filled his boots up there it's a diffrent kettle of fish.
Changing formation week to week changing team week to week changing manger half way through season changing tactics all the time messi and Rialto would've looked lost in our team last season. Think it's fair to say we cannot comment on wether we've dropped a ******* letting him go
I was through in Edinburgh last weekend and spoke with one of my Hibs supporting friends who was more than happy with their purchase of Stevie boy. He was eulogising about Mallan's set piece prowess and stated he was worth a place in the team for that ability alone. Would have loved to have seen him succeed with us but I totally understand his desire to move for first team football.
Watched him play against TNS welsh premier league winners and they made him look pretty average before he joined us. It just didn’t work out for all. (WPL is lower than non league for quality)
