I realise he's upset some people with his off field antics of late, but like the late Paul Futcher, David Currie, Craig Hignett, John Hendrie, Ashley Ward et al, he will always hold a special place in my affections for his exploits in the famous Red shirt of Barnsley FC. I have been to Cannon Hall Garden Centre with my wife this afternoon and Adam was in there with his partner and two lovely little girls. I couldn't resist saying " Adam Hammill my hero." He put two thumbs up and smiled at me and said " thanks very much pal". I then said, " any chance of a return to Oakwell Adam.?" I don't know whether he heard me or didn't want to say anything , but sadly there was no response. Have to say he looked in very good nick, as though if the call did come he could put his boots on and still do a job for us. Sincerely hope that the Club has a change of heart and offers him a contract. Could possibly be an impact player coming off the bench to try and influence the game late on.
Too reight. It needs more threads that are so nauseatingly brown nosing, that days later they leave the reader with a bit of sick in their mouth.
The man himself has done nothing to upset me. Was a fine footballer for this club always gave 100% and was a big contributor to two of my greatest memories of Barnsley F.C. I’ll never have a bad word to say against him and however he returns to to Oakwell in any capacity he will have my support. What’s getting tiresome is the countless topics being created essentially begging and pleading for either Hammill himself to give us another year or for the club to give him another year. It’s not happening. Like what our former manager once said, it’s time for new heroes.
I am surprised some league one team hasn't signed him up I think his championship days are over but league one teams could do far worse and still only 30.
Agree Redrum. Something tells me a League One or Two Club could do far worse than offering him a deal. He looks very fit and probably has a couple of seasons in him.
I reckon IF hamiill was allowed to train with the squad just to keep his fitness up like aidy white did that within a month Stendel would offer him some form of deal once he's seen his stats and committment.
There have probably been a hundred times more Brexit posts than Hammill posts on here but it doesn't stop them. Surely a BFC forum is an appropriate place to post about Adam.
I suspect his wage demands are too much for those at League One level who think he could do a job for them. He probably has to become a little more realistic and accept his Championship days are over.
My brother in law ( Donny fan) informs me that Adam Hammill is currently at the Keepmoat Stadium, putting pen to paper on a deal with Doncaster Rovers. Personally if that's true, I'm chuffed the lads got fixed up with a Club. He will get a rousing cheer from me if and when he runs out at Oakwell.
Me too. That it won’t go away speaks to the wealth of support for giving him a new contract. Lack of squad depth having been clearly demonstrated on Tuesday night. Sign him up and we’ll stop posting . We’ll regret it when he ends playing a winning hand against us.
I read somewhere he'd been on a night out locally and had too much to drink and consequently he'd disrupted a family celebration. Can't remember where I saw it. Could have been one of the family members involved who mentioned it on here, when someone was singing Hammills praises.
I live in donny too. I’ve been told four times over the last two weeks that ‘hammill’s signing for us today’ by four different rovers supporters. One even rang me specifically to tell me as it was such a done deal. I’m guessing there is or was something in it but nothing seems to have come of it.
We’ll know if/ when they do, Headlines will be something along the lines of, He choose them over us and dozens of other clubs
