Both have qualities in the box if supplied with reasonable services we could have had Pele and Gerd Muller upfront yesterday and they would have struggled crossing was appaling from potts, Cavare and thiam and pinnilos didn’t even try. I have confidence in the team but we desperately need someone who can cross

I think we could get it to dock if we wanted to.

Crossing hasn't been great all season despite getting off to a great start.

Besides that, it's not always the quality of the cross, but how early you get it in. You can have the best crosser in the league, but if you've allowed the whole of the opposing side to be back in their box like we did yesterday then you're more likely to hit their players than ours.

For me there has to be something else to add to trying to hit Moore with crosses and long balls.

The cross cross from Cavare for Bradshaw at Bradford was great, but it came from us already being in their faces and Moore had just had two shots blocked in the run up - their defence was all over the place.

The second goal came from Moncur running at their defence and causing problems.

Against Oxford and Blackpool none of the goals came from crosses.

For me, we have to be better than we were yesterday in several departments. Crossing is obviously one, but we also have to be looking at mixing that up with going through the middle. Defenders don't like being run at.

It was a one off game as he’s normally very good but there isn’t a player in world football that could have got on the end of Moore’s flick ons yesterday. They were absolutely woeful. Just one of those games yesterday and it’s what we do next that counts.

Spread it wide, cross it in, it seems it’s the Barnsley default tactic, and it as been for years, even if it as absolutely no chance of paying off like yesterday it’s still our go to tactic. I’ll give Thiam a bit of credit he realised the AFCW defenders had ball magnets on their foreheads and tried a few low crosses instead, something that’s not seen too often from BFC players but even that didn’t pay off against a well organised defensive unit and in the end he just gave up trying.

Yesterday’s game was crying out for a decent central ball playing midfielder, quick strikers, and tricky wingers, who could run at them and give them something else to worry about, we do have them in Hedges, Isgrove, Victor, Mowatt & Moncur. But we could do with some loanees to back up Hedges and Isgrove, and another striker with pace and power a quick six footer so to speak, and the coaching staff having the experience to change it a lot sooner then they did yesterday that’ll come as the season progresses but we need a few new faces that give us different options before the first of September.

Potts, Thiam, & Moore were ineffective yesterday against a well organised defensive unit that Wimbledon came with, but Oxford and Bradford found them un playable. We needed the option of starting the game with, or having the ability to introduce players with, the attributes someone like Hedges, & Isgrove, would give you, on a regular basis unfortunately we only have them two and no one come in when they’re unable to play.

What about when Steele was too old so we signed Mike Pollitt? I'm still fuming about that one just like I am about this.

Completely disagree. Hoof ball from Davies is not what I want to watch. We just need to use the wings more effectively.

I’d much rather he gave the ball to Cavare where possible than lumped it up field. Even if Moore wins the flick on its not exactly hard for the centre halves to anticipate and Bradshaw isn’t the quickest. We went too long in the second half, completely bypassing our talented midfield. Moore was trying to play Bradshaw in time and again and it wasn’t working.

Doesn`t have to be hoof ball all the time but yesterdays slow deliberate build up to get a chance to cross was woeful and took far longer than a kick from Davies, now that slow build up bores the ***** arta me. Memories of last season there. Needs to be mixed up a bit when it aint working.

We're supposed to be a team of professional footballers, so why folk want us to play hoofball is a mystery to me. It's not as if we're any good at it. Half the time, Moore has no idea where the ball has gone after he's headed it, so how are his teammates expected to know where it's going?

I agree that the crossing needs to improve, but the shooting was even worse than the crossing yesterday. Eleven shots, only one on target - and too many into row Z for my liking.

I don't want to knock Moore too much as we've obviously not seen the Keiff that Rotherham saw. However, from what I've seen of him, so far, he just doesn't look nearly good enough. Crap with his feet, his flick-ons have been terrible, and some of his headers on goal (despite his height) simply aren't good enough. As I say, we need to see the Rotherham Moore, not the one we've seen so far. Until then I won't be too critical.

Some of the decision making of the players, you wonder what they were thinking. If someone said name a long ball team, most people would say Wimbledon. No other team in the country is better known for playing that way. So what do we do? Play long ball for 90 minutes trying to break down the specialists of the tactic by playing them at their own game.

Nobody running down the pitch centrally taking on players. Nobody playing a quick one two through the middle. No through balls for a one on one. We should have outplayed them on the deck, with the free flowing football we played in our first two league games.
