If we are going to have the season we all hope we have to accept we will have some frustrating days along the way.
Looking at how they are playing now, do you think the current bunch would still be Championship players if Stendal had been appointed in January?
You could argue (pointlessly) this til the cows come home. The 2016 side had a year together in this league to establish themselves and a winning team spirit before going up. This crop got dropped straight into Championship level and had to sink or swim. Given that the 2016 side were bottom of the Division One at Christmas how do we think they'd have coped if they'd been playing in the Championship that season? There's too many ifs and buts to do a proper comparison, certainly at the moment. The 2016 team was one of my three favourite Barnsley sides since the 60s I'd just like to add.
If teams attack us, we score lots of goals and concede none. If teams don't attack us, we might struggle to score but we're probably even less likely to concede. So does that mean: P46 W35 D11 L0 GF115 GA0 GD+115
Its possible given the fine margins. They would have still struggled we asked too much of them to all step up at once to championship level.
Of course not just making the point if we continue like this we can expect more teams to adopt the Wimbledon approach especially at Oakwell
