The moaners are out in force. This is league one, you are bound to get setbacks. So they are losing at Charlton. Ffs get real. We have a good team and management but we are going to lose now and then Move on ,next match and onwards and upwards. End of season that counts
It seems as though certain posters have given their opinion upon today's performance. And if that reflects a disappointing effort, then that seems fair enough. You get setbacks in any league, by the way. When you support Barnsley.
Agree. Unless we are steamrollering teams we are 'crap' according to some. Sub-standard display today but we lose one away match to a good side, but still in the play-offs. What is the matter with people?
If we give a half decent performance every game we’ll win every game. At least most. They were ***** today. Every team at every level are poor every now and then. It’s disappointing but we don’t have any devine right to expect wins every week. Nor have we a right to expect a good performance every week. The odd poor performance and result could well serve as a kick up the backside. We will see how they react at Shrewsbury.
Agreed, I reckon our commentary guys put the 'kiss of death' on it today. They banging on about we had not lost at the Valley for 19 years, how Charlton were in a slump and were showing poor form. I just knew what the outcome was gonna be.... the "COMMENTATORS CURSE" strikes again .
I think the comments on here reflect the performance, which was utter garbage. I'm sure they'll try and put it right on Tuesday but there's going to need to be a lot more effort and ability than on show today.
I don't think it's moaning to say today was woeful. As fantastic as we were against Peterborough, today we were dreadful and worryingly created very little. Charlton wisely allowed Davies time but pressed us in midfield and wide. We had little movement and down our right with no full back to help pinnock, their pace opened us up with simple balls. Bizarre end when Cavare was given a free role for 15 minutes and was the only time he showed effort. We got the team wrong today and the energy was poor. Fair play to Charlton they pressed us and took advantage. It's only a second defeat, but we can't afford to be this poor if we have ambition for a top 2 place. Not being reactionary, I think playoffs are more likely than automatic. Promoted teams don't perform so so poorly very often in a season.
Be careful not to upset the poor little footballers Devine right doesn’t exist Hard work makes a difference though!
I don’t like to lose but can live with it if we have done our best - it seems it was a poor performance today but it happens!
no I did not.....if you took a look down the board you would see that my old Cairn Terrier was under surgery on Thursday for a major op on his left rear Knee.... he will be under close nursing for the best part of two months... I have spent the days since on standby helping to care for him... next time you have some cold banal remark please keep it to your chuffing self.
Come on Dragon - you could have simply given Lloyd Isgrove a ring - he's got nowt better to do than look after a pooch on a Saturday afternoon. Apparently.
I didn't see the thread but I see you have bumped it now for maximum effect which I find distasteful. We cannot be expected to know the mental wellbeing of every poster before we reply to them. I am a dog lover though and I sincerely wish your dog all the best.
There's a connection between the physical and the mental when you encroach upon the mental well being of a person. Especially so in the football world. It can start when you deprecate their physical well being. When injured. Like saying they're worthless because they're injured. It could be that Mr Isgrove is as mortified as you, and possibly anguished about his injuries, and wanting more than anything in the world to be able to play the game that he loves, and not be seen to be "pinching a living". It may be that he suffers as a result. The wage will help. As you've pointed out. Best not to be too hard on him. If we knew he was a dog lover, it might help him.
I don't know what you expect the fans to say after a defeat such as today's. The forum would be a boring place if it was full of "Jolly unlucky, old chap" comments. We played ***** and there's nothing wrong in saying so.
He is a professional footballer. When he signed a contract he knew that fan appraisal was inevitable. He's taking the four figure salary. He should expect to take the criticism. If not he should resign with immediate effect.
