It depends on your view of the scheme of things. Such as, wtf does that phrase mean? If the scheme of things means the team's position in the Football League - well we always know that. And in that scheme of things there is a place for every team. So we must look for other criteria: Our potential to improve our league position and eventually to become top of the Premiership?

I think we can look at Burnley as a good comparison - a Northern town of comparable size - so how they got where they are in the Premiership and we haven't. A similar size ground. You would have to say a more successful history - particularly in the 1950s and 1960s and they have won all major competitions barring the League Cup. But that was then...so I don't think it unrealistic for us to aim for the Premiership again, and certainly to consolidate as a Championship side who play attractive football.

The first aim is to get promotion this year - and I think we have now got a good management team; a squad of players who are capable of the job...and the backing of owners who can support this financially without throwing money about. We have a strategy to improve and hold on to good players, and develop them and increase the quality of the squad as and when necessary.

So in this "scheme of things" I am reasonably content just now, and see no need for endless nitpicking, carping, snide comments such as I read on here.

I can't disagree with some of the points, especially the Morais malaise. To be fair I'd hold Hecky responsible for that as much as anyone, with his departure. On the signings front we are probably limited with the wages we are already paying. Keeping the squad together & adding Woodrow, Dougall & Bahre doesn't look bad to me & as you say we are doing well in terms of league position.

I do think that we are seeing us doing more in the community & getting some good PR for the club & getting fans through the door to matches. GG & the board deserve credit for this.

The real judgement will come at the end of the season with how good the squad really is, as we have a lot of youngsters who are improving game by game under Stendel.

I had my car serviced last week. They took out the steering wheel, pedals and seats and replaced them with a Wii remote, a set of chocks and a deckchair.

It's not about "winning". I've said before I am happy for people to disagree with me. That's how we get a debate. I did actually start a thread about my thoughts on Satdi's game but I was going to question whether their goal was offside. I could then see the route the responses would go down and thought better of it.

In this age of grand illusion
    You walked into my life
    Out of my dreams
    I don't need another change
    Still you forced your way
    Into my scheme of things
    You say we're growing,
    Growing heart and soul
In this age of grand illusion
    You walked into my life
    Out of my dreams
Sweet name, you're born once again for me
Sweet name, you're born once again for me
Oh sweet name, I call you again
You're born once again for me
Just because I believe, don't mean I don't think as well
    Don't have to question everything
    In heaven or hell
Lord, I kneel and offer you
    My word on a wing
And I'm trying hard to fit among
    Your scheme of things
It's safer than a strange land
But I still care for myself
And I don't stand in my own light
    Lord, Lord, MY prayer flies
Like a word on a wing
    My prayer flies
Like a word on a wing
    Does my prayer fit in
    With your scheme of things?
In this age of grand illusion
    You walked into my life
    Out of my dreams
Sweet name, you're born once again for me
Just as long as I can see, I'll never stop this vision flowing
I look twice and you're still flowing
Just as long as I can walk
I'll walk beside you, I'm alive in you
Sweet name, you're born once again for me
And I'm ready to shape the scheme of things
    Ooh, ready to shape
    The scheme of things
    Ooh, ready to shape
    The scheme of things
    Ooh, ready to shape
    The scheme of things
    Ooh, ready to shape
    The scheme of things
Lord, I kneel and offer you
    My word on a wing
And I'm trying hard to fit among
    Your scheme of things
It's safer than a strange land,
But I still care for myself
And I don't stand in my own light
Oh Lord, Lord, Lord, my prayer flies
Like a word on a wing
And I'm trying hard to fit among
    Your scheme of things
It's safer than a strange land,
But I still care for myself
And I don't stand in my own light
    Lord, Lord, my prayer flies
Like a word on a wing
My prayer flies like a word on a wing
    Does my prayer fit in
    With your scheme of things?

Why ? because it goes along with what you are saying , but anyone who does not agree with you, must not have a proper opinion . Its like saying , I"l start a debate but only people that agree with me hold a proper opinion. What is the point in trying to debate with you ?

Don’t agree with most of it.
That doesn’t mean it’s not a good post.
Which sort of differentiates me from most on here.

You seem to be highly focused on my posts.
Which of course is highly recommendable.
But you need to look in the mirror if you are looking for the person constantly saying the same thing.

    Whine whine FOOKING whine !!!

It's because you make the same repetitive comments constantly and it is killing many people's enjoyment of the board. You're not debating, you're attention seeking by posting repeated beliefs that you know full well inflame things and it's quite pathetic for a man of your age to be honest.

How you get away with it on here and have done so for so long is ridiculous. Anyone can read your twitter feed to see the vast difference. You are a troll and nothing more.

That would have been a good discussion point - to be honest I thought it was a goal at the time, and I'm still not sure why it was disallowed. But why pick on that - a negative - when we scored 4 decent goals and hammered inferior opposition? I believe it's the lack of balance which annoys some posters (including me at times). Whether you admit it or not, whether it's intentional or not, you do come across as a poster who ignores the positives and concentrates on the negatives.

Easy answer to that. Stop posting the same stuff, and the replies will be different.

I actually liked one of your posts yesterday. I don't have any favourites or foes. I actually agree with your sentiment, it's just the crazy, baseless way you try to qualify what you say. It's utter bonkers.

You've sort of proved my point. Just because we scored four why can we not question other aspects of the game without it being seen as negative? If the goal had stood it could have been a completely different game. Or it could have been 4-1. Why would it be negative to discuss this either as part of a review of the game or a separate point by itself?

You've sort of proved my point too, hee hee! Of course you are right, there's nothing wrong with discussing other aspects of the game. It's just that you never seem to mention anything positive at all - you either find something negative or you post nothing. You'll probably say you don't do it on purpose, but trust me, that's how you come across to me, and I suspect to lots of others too. If there were more of a balance, for example lavish praise when we hammer someone, constructive criticism when we play badly and/or lose, it would be different. You seem to be genuinely pleased when we lose - I'm sure that's ******, but believe me it does come across like that at times.

Anyway, I wish all conversations on here were like this one - civil and courteous, regardless of opinions.

    You’re whining again !!!

But let’s look at the last 4 threads I’ve started:

    1) Where are we in the scheme of things under the new ownership?

    2) Detrimental impact of Leeds and Sheffield clubs on Barnsley.

    3) Best 11 players under the era of Patrick Cryne.

    4) BigLils Comb

So link the four in relation to repetitiveness !!!
    I’ll bet yer can’t.
Four initial threads that has GENERATED dozens of responses.

Too much jealousy raising it’s ugly head on here.
Followed by a repetitive whine from some.

Jealousy? Of a 60 year old bloke winding people up on a fans forum?

What is this? Who gets the most replies competition? Look at me generating replies! Woop woop!

I think you'll find lots of people post and get replies. It's what a forums for.

If the car engine isn't running but the handbrakes off and we are moving that suggests you think we are going down hill, I'd say we are revving the engine heading up hill with a few parked cars to get past
