I've just watched Phillipe Albert chip Schmeichel on some old footy program on Sky and it got me thinking if this is my favourite goal not scored by The Reds.

Some other contenders are Beckham against Greece, Jimmy Glass heading in for Carlisle in the 95th minute and Chadli against Japan in this world cup in the 94th minute.

    Any takers?

For some reason one that springs to mind is North Korea's goal against Brazil in the 2010 world cup. They got battered in their other two games but managed to make the scoreline a very respectable 1-2 against one of the best teams in the world. It was a great strike as well, their player smashed it across the keeper, and their fans (probably forced to attend and wave flags by old Kim) didn't know what to do.

The World Cup has given us lots of great goals. These two are among my faves:
    - Michael Owen, England v Argentina,1998
    - Tim Cahill, Australia v Netherlands 2014

Graeme Sharp against Wendy's at hillsbrough in the face cup in 1987......he chipped Martin Hodge from around 25 yards and went on to get a hat trick in a five nil win.....I think it went to three replays before Everton smashed them....chortle... sithi.

Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke's double 'one-two' goal away to Barcelona in 1998 was special, ripped Barca apart!

Michael Owen's wonder goal against Argentina.

Heskey making it 5-1 in Munich 2001.

Quite enjoy seeing back Scott Young's winner against Leeds in that FA Cup game just for the manic reaction from the terraces.

So many old FA Cup goals to choose from. Ronnie Radford's was quality of course, though happened well before I was born. Keith Houchen's diving header in the 1987 final was pretty special as it was the first FA Cup final I ever watched. Talking of Houchen, his penalty for York against Arsenal a few years before was pretty memorable for the pressure he was under, the calmness of the kick and the crowd going absolutely ballistic.
