...... In 17~18!!!!!!! Spending double on wages what their income is. Notified in Aug that they were under investigation. Hearing in Feb

Hope they get hit with full 21 point deduction.

Probably get 29 years to pay it back and told they are very naughty.

Can someone link the BBC article. Only published in the last hour. It's mind boggling

The punishment for cheating should be relegation. Unfortunately the process takes too long to reprieve the poor sods who got relegated instead of them.

They are having an excellent season so any points deduction should be enough to put them in serious relegation danger at the very least. I reckon if the authorities had the balls to give them any points deduction it would just be enough to make sure they couldn't make the play offs and finished comfortably mid table.

According to the BBC report the club is in debt to the owners to the tune of £73 million and will require a further £39 mill over the the next 18 months to keep afloat
A sobering thought when we bitch about the way our club is run

I hope so, but I won't hold my breath. Until the risk of punishment exceeds the potential gains to be had from cheating, I can't see much changing. Personally I'd kick them all down to L2 and make them start again (a la Rangers). Then nudge up as many teams as needs be to sort out the league structure, even if it means the top half of L1 suddenly end up in the Championship.

Does anyone actually think that if the F.A brought in a penalty where breaching such rules resulted in automatic relegation teams would think twice???

When clubs see what measly sanctions othes face then a suppose why would you not fancy going for the golden egg that is the Premiership!!

Plenty of clubs that smugly nick our players and pay them astronomical wages / narrowly avoid relegation at our expense there. Absolutely nothing will be done. Absolutely nothing will change.

Exactly. They paid £3million for Marc Roberts in 2017-18. Plus they bought three of Brentford's best players the same summer for well over £10million combined (£12million in fact it you believe what you read). Yet they must have known they were stacks in debt. And they have form - having been in big financial trouble when they were still paying Zigic £70k a week despite being in danger of relegation to L1.

I hope they have points deducted to the extent that survival in the Championship is an impossibility and they have to play out the season as certs for relegation. Tough on the fans but someone needs to be made an example of sooner or later

Birmingham were so worried about FFP that while under a transfer embargo in summer they still signed a player. Nothing will happen it never does. Only daft clubs like us follow the rules and we just sell all our best players to keep in FFP. Total joke.

It's disgraceful! Why aren't we spending more money? What's £10m of someone else's debt matter to us?

Totally agree, relegation will hurt a club much more than money and would make them think harder next time
