The only person he's let down is Stendl. He was the man who gave him his chance to come to England and be part of our club.We now move on. Decisions on the pitch and training ground will always be Stendls. He may appoint from within or he might bring in one of his trusted countrymen. One thing is certain this club is far bigger than Andreas Winkler and we will carry on regardless. I wish Winkler well in his new venture,he was a very good translator for Daniel and i'm sure he'll do the same at Huddersfield.I'm sure our paths will cross again in the near future.
I don't get why people get irritated by clauses to be honest, whether management or otherwise. If you were a player or upcoming manager- knowing our recent history- would you really want to join a club who constantly sells their stock at any opportunity risking their league position? There is zero ambition as I see it. You wouldn't join for perceived stability at the club would you? Plus we seem to insert relegation wage clauses! Barnsley FC is very attractive to young players, purely because we have a good track record of nurturing players and then selling them on. Players know that when they are ready to step up there will be very little obstacles in their way.
Be interesting to hear Stendels thoughts on this. All the best to Winkler he’s been a real shining light in the media interviews at the club during his time here. Despite pillocking us at times about players being back from injury etc.
Major major disappointment. Liked the guy for reasons stated previously in this thread. Let's hope DS isn't too pis*ed off and that he has a replacement in mind. young mr.stern certainly looks to have potential. Also acts as DSs interpreter so mebbe he can step up. Problem with this is that it's happened so quickly we've probably not planned for it. Let's hope Huddersfields relegation confirmed soon and we go up and we do the double over them next season and they get relegated and we get promoted and we go on to beat Dortmund in the Champions League final and Huddersfiedl go crashing out of the league and and and and and .......schadenfreude......it's a beautiful and v bitter thing.
Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye stated: “We’re disappointed to see Andreas leave the club but I am likewise fvcking off once the transfer window shuts."
A class act...very good at his job and well respected by all.....he will be missed. We now have to move on....i would like us to spend some money and stop counting more of it.......that will benefit our coach.
Exactly this, we either take them and insert the buy out clauses or go searching for another management team who would have been second choice..
Big loss for us & could seriously derail our promotion push. Looks like if a release clause was triggered there wasn't much that could be done. Worrying that other rumours re Pinnock / GG could also have substance as well. It seems we can't get beyond a January transfer window without our team being loved firmly.
So , who have we got to translate Stendel's tactics and vision to the first team? Because unless Stendel's English in this area is much better than his English in general ( which it may well be) then I imagine Winkler was a key staff member in this regard ( as implied by his taking up of post-match interviews etc). I'm worried about the potential void on the training ground
It's a shame. Can't really blame the bloke for going, though. Let's be real here, if results carry on in the same vein, Daniel will be off as well. It's part and parcel of a club of our size.
