I agree about Davies in goal....

Pinnock & Mawson would have to be in there.

So would Hourihane & Scowen for me.

The others a case could be made for different combinations.

    I'd go:

    Davies

    Scowen Pinnock Mawson Aidy White

    Brown Mowatt Hourihane Hammill

    Woodrow Winnall

(PS, still think Winnall is a lovely person)

Better players than Brown at the moment , but I'm trying to put players together who can play that position well & would work in a 4-4-2. (I think Scowen & Brown could overlap, just like Aidy & Hammell & all 4 are good in defence & attack.
Also ignoring Aidy White's injury record.

Hammill and White were brilliant that season.

I'd have Watkins on the other wing. Real grafter.

Got to have Winnall in, as much as I hate the rat face.

And as much as I like Mowatt, i think you have to play him or Hourihane and not both - and Connor would be the captain so he gets the nod. Brownhill just edges out Scowen - as he did in that team.

    Davies
    Yiadom Mawson Pinnock White
    Watkins Brownhill Hourihane Hammill
    Moore Winnall

Davies played in both teams, other than that only Moore and Pinnock get the nod from the current side - as much as I like this team.

Edit - Yiadom never played in league one did he. Hmmmm. Unsure then. Maybe George Williams.

I'll give you mine at the end of the season which is hopefully only 9 more games.

Other than Davies none of the current team. Mowatt, Pinnock as subs.

The last promotion team was special but this side is also great. I can’t make a case to play any of the other back four when this side concedes next to nothing. On the other side of that coin I can’t get any of the current midfield in the side either - McGeehan and Mowatt are great, Scowen and Hourihane were better. (I know scowen played right back at the end of that season but he was a superb central midfielder).

Woodrow maybe unlucky to not get in but sentiment aside, Winnall was probably a bit better at that stage.

    Davies

    Cavare
    Pinnock
    Lindsay
    Pinillos

    Watkins
    Scowen
    Hourihane
    Hammill

    Winnall
    Moore

    Subs
    Walton
    Mawson
    G Williams
    Mowatt
    McGeehan
    Woodrow
    Fletcher

It’s so hard to rate many from this season above the one from 2016 because the one from 2016 went up into the championship & were getting brilliant results & on the verge of the play offs.

If you’re judging league one against league one then I’m sure there’s room for a few of the current lot but it’s hard to split the championship & league one games from memory

Judging from league one only but some great teams here... can make an argument for all of em... one thing I do like as opposed to the last team was how little loan players we have

If Stendel had been in charge last time I reckon we'd have set a points record.
