There’s nothing to worry about. As the other thread has already told us , our Daniel is in the Morrison’s bread aisle .

Personally, I think he will be here for a few good years yet ... think Eddie Howe at Bournemouth (yes I know he left and went back but you get my point )

He definitely loves Morrison's. Do they have them in Germany? I know they're not as common down south.

Personally I think it’s all down to his East German roots, i.e he just lives a simple life like the rest of us.

For example when he first arrived last summer , he just simply mingled in with the locals and went out and watched the World Cup in town.

Then of course on that wonderful Tuesday night back at the end of April, what was his first reaction .... just to get out in town for a beer and celebrate with everyone else.

It’s a very underrated quality in a human being to remain humble despite having a privileged or elevated position. I see that quality in abundance with Daniel Stendel.
Does that mean he will never leave here for another job ? No of course not , if the right opportunity presents itself then he will go but I just have a hunch that won’t be for a while yet .

Thank you DonnyRed, I'm probably reading too much into Press reports, hopefully next week will bring clarity.

Paul Heckingbottom had a similar deal didn't he.? After the debacle involving Morais and with Daniel being an unknown quantity in English football, it is plausible that the Board decided to take a cautious approach and offer him 12 months, with the option of an additional year.

As already said by others, it would be good if his family relocated to the UK, but without knowing if any kids are involved and whether or not they are completing their education in Germany , we can't read anything into their capabilities of joining him.

For his part, as you say Helen, that could well be one of the reasons why, whilst initially committing to the original offer made, he just might be unsure about accepting a lengthy extension.

One positive as far as I' m concerned, is that his Assistant Christopher Stern has brought his wife and family over with him and in an the article on the Club website he sounded really positive about the Club, our supporters and the way the players had adapted to the style of play. Surely DS must feel the same way regarding the Club.?

In keeping with many of our fans, my hope is that Daniel does decide to stay as he's been a real breath of fresh air and to help him settle even more, that his family are eventually able to join him in Barnsley.

Daniel's children are teenagers the eldest must be nearing public examinations so I can see why they didnt move. Chris's are a lot younger and it's a good opportunity for them to gain a good grasp of English during their time here.

Good job Chris wasn't appointed to a Sheffield club. My first day at De La Salle College I
strayed out of bounds and a prefect shouted to me " Eh Nar ten yor lot, what da doin' deer."?

I thought I'd landed on a different planet and I'm Yorkshire born and bred. God only knows what
    anyone from Germany would think.
