Only one person has mentioned religion and it isn’t me. It’s a matter of fact that the vast majority of UK heroin comes from three countries Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Most the trade in the north of England especially along the M62 corridor is controlled by gangs from the Pakistani community, it costs them nothing to import and make huge profits. Again please feel free to ask any plod for that area and they’ll tell you the same. It’s also no coincidence that in areas with a Pakistani population the price is cheaper both wholesale and retail as they hold the cookie jar. Barnsley’s drug trade around heroin is lower end wholesale and retail. A large percentage controlled by the Somalis, a couple Eastern European gangs and gangs from Sheffield with the locals closer to the bottom of pile in terms of pecking orders. The most notorious being the Pitsmoor Shotta Boys. Anyone from up Mexborough way will tell you how nice these are. And those are not even their top boys. The PsB has had to drift outside of Sheffield as they are embroiled in turf wars throughout Sheffield with Asian, Kurds, Iraqis, African and local scrotes. The only thing that is affecting sales is Spice and drugs of a similar nature. Cheaper costs, less risk to obtain compared to a container full of scag. Essentially you can make the stuff in a bath tub providing you can obtain the ingredients. Longer ‘high’ for the end user. I’ll have a look at the documentary but it won’t change my mind. I’ve seen the damage first hand that alcohol abuse can do but that pales into insignificance compared to Heroin, crack, spice sniff E’s and even cannabis. Remember Holland has a fairly lax approach to drugs. Would you walk down the backstreets at night when all the zombies come out to play? You know the side that no one talks about.
And how much does being a fatty cost? Type two diabetes. Gastric bands Having to have low loaders to get some folk to hospital People making a killing over a dietary fad that doesn’t work long term Etc.
But fast food isn't illegal and I've never known anyone rob an old person or brake into a tradesman van for pizza. The drug laws defiantly need changing as they aren't working though. I also begrudge young lads living the high life off an illegal trade. I also think your right in what you say in the other post and imo the Pakistani community in Yorkshire have a problem with drug dealing.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p07brjf8/hometown-a-killing-series-1-1-a-killing Shown on BBC 3. Well worth watching.
I don’t believe that he advocates shooting workers / owners of betting companies. You’re right drug dealers and betting companies both exploit vulnerable people. The solution is not to shoot them . A consistent credible stance so far as I can see.
Never said it was a solution - not sure there even is a solution - but the shooting of a violent drug dealer is not a loss to be mourned.
I'd like to know where that is as I've not really seen that happen myself. The Dutch "coffee shops" aren't in back alleys, they're in between other shops and on main roads usually. And a lot of the custom happens during daytime. Hardly anything gets used on site anyway anymore due to the anti smoking laws anyway. No system is without its flaws, but you're drawing a rather shortsighted conclusion there.
Just finished watching the six and final part on catch up. They could have called it Birkby rather than Huddersfield to be more precise. HD post codes go up to 9. Birkby and probably 90 odd percent of trouble happens in HD1 which is the town centre and surrounding area. It's not as big of a problem as the show makes out trouble to be. When he was putting pins in a map for each bad Huddersfield story they were all being put next to each other. It's not out of the ordinary for a town or city to have a known hot spot for trouble, whilst the majority of places are fine.
Correct. Also, the Dutch are absolutely not lax about anything other than cannabis and mushrooms. Same law and enforcement as other European countries when it comes to ecstasy for example, which is pretty much accepted these days to be much less damaging than most substances, including alcohol and tobacco.
Thats interesting, there’s a scene in 3 Lions when the police swoop in to arrest the obviously devout Muslim guy and leave the actual westernised looking terrorists which I thought spoke to there truth of the matter and I have held the same view about those dealing drugs. The pakistanis I see who look and act like drug dealers don’t look like the ones I see hanging around the mosque on a Friday. I might be wrong of course, but I’d be interested to know what circumstances brought you into contact with those who did listen to their parents and the imam. As far as terrorism goes in the west most of those involved don’t do either, and like I say, seems the same for the drug dealers, they might self identify as Muslims but i doubt they could tell you which way was Mecca.
What happens in 3 lions? Is it a prequel to 4 lions that i missed? Do they try to blow up Wembley and take Baddiel & Skinner hostage?
The kids I met, were all around 15-17 years of age and I was instructing them for their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. As such, I have to admit they were from the more affluent Asian families. They tended to socialise with other Pakistanis and at first, were wary of making friends with local Wakefield kids, but they were all very respectful of their elders, families and the Imam. He seemed to be a good bloke. He used to call into the Club to chat to the kids during Ramadan.
Yeah all the bad stuff is pretty much within a few miles of each other in a town of vast size. It's easy enough to avoid bother. This is our front page story today with weak sentences that won't deter them when they get back out.... https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/drug-dealing-scum-who-brought-16493277
