Not sure whether that's good or bad news. Hopefully if we get Maranda and this Finnish bloke in addition to Mads and Toby then two out of the four will be good enough to start next season. The inexperience of all four at championship level is still a worry though.
I'm just glad all this transfer stuff is happening earlier in the pre-season rather than just before deadline day.
I agree Monk. After these 2, reckon we only need a left back, winger and striker and we’re ready to go.
I think we certainly need two more centre backs, so from what we hear Halme from Leeds and Maranda. I would imagine at only 6’0” Toby Sibbick will be more of a right back, a more solid defensive option than Cavare?
Sibbick is 6ft3 according to official site, I agree though he’ll be a utility player to cover both centre half and right back
Everywhere I’ve seen had him at 183cm, which is 6’0”. If he’s bigger then great but Wimbledon, soccerbase and even Wiki have him as that?
Lindsay and Pinnocks championship experience though? i know there is the argument that they have played together for while now but good players should be able to slot into any team.
Championship experience probably isn't essential to be honest, and I'm not suggesting that two of the four CBs we may start the season won't be good enough. However, it seems daft to suggest that there isn't a need to be mildly concerned about starting a season with four players who are 21 and under, have little experience in English football and have never set foot on a pitch together. Many of the reactions over the last few days appear to quite polarised regarding the sale of our defence. Some suggest we have no ambition and are threatening to sell their season ticket, whereas others are adamant that everything will be just fine and these relative unknown defenders are an improvement on the previous lot. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle I reckon.
