If Moore goes, then he goes. Getting pissed off about it won't change anything. It's not like players jumping ship at the first sign of a bigger club/payday is anything new, nor is then club being a selling club. I've been attending since the age of 7 in 1989, and we have been a selling club ever since(barring the season in the promised land and couple of years after, and look where that left the club). My grandad had been a supporter since the 20's, and used to say the same(including regularly using the now infamous phrase, "they don't want/cant afford to go up to the First Division). Now, I'm not saying that I don't find it disappointing that barring the few years in the late 90's/2000 the club seems to have made no major progress to it's mentality, because I am. But I'm not going to be breaking out the Prozac just because a striker decides the grass is greener somewhere else. He's not the first, and while by no means be the last...
Sorry, forgot there was a lot of Champ Clubs down there....... That’s his nearest Champ Team. Southampton/Portsmouth/Plymouth/Exeter/Bournemouth being other close ones but not Champ. As others point out - live 45mins from training, and then he’s only 45mins from Torquay based on 60mph journey. Yes rough figures I know. Not rocket science though. It’s a home club for him. End of.
I entirely disregard your opinion that I cannot comment on the owners repeatedly cashing in on our best saleable assets, however you want to dress it up, and will not be replying to your ridiculous jabs again.
Honestly can’t see what you think they have done wrong. If a player in the last year of a contract won’t sign another and refuse all overtures, and then express a desire to leave, they are always going to be sold.
Spot on, I posted earlier in the week that i'd seen summat from twitter that he'd gone to Bristol for 4M, but couldn't confirm it. as for the selling bit i'm at 50 years supporting the club next season and still get disappointed when a favourite player goes ( nearly cried when trevor aylott left) but it is even more part of the game now so onward and upward..
Exactly. A successful season will always attract attention from other teams. Applies to every team and player in the land. As soon as an approach is made, if the agent and player want the move to happen, it usually will. If Man Utd can’t keep Pogba..... If Arsenal couldn’t keep Sanchez..... Barnsley’s no different......
I take it, the guy is no Moore. Big Mac got shut from Ipswich. His Championship career is abstract. Let the little one take a he big one. Forget having plan b and c I go for PLAN D for Demolition. Just send some of the new big buggers up front to abuse and destroy. Kone and Cauley to follow up and tap in. Job done.
Used to do that journey regular, don’t envy you. Remember coming back one Friday night and they shut the M50/M5 junction and we had to go into Wales and come out at Tewkesbury, horrible
Adam Davies said he wanted to concentrate on the promotion push before he'd start talking contracts.Perhaps he'd already been tapped up.
Not rocket science though. It’s a home club for him. End of.
What's the obsession with "home team", he might hate Torquay for all we know; just a town full of Sybil's. Footballers are journey men and they'll go where the current best money for them is. P.S. I hope he doesn't go.
What's the obsession with "home team", he might hate Torquay for all we know; just a town full of Sybil's. Footballers are journey men and they'll go where the current best money for them is. P.S. I hope he doesn't go.
It’s nothing to do with the team, it’s the simple location of it. A lot of his family and friends are still down there. And alas, Bristol are throwing money at it! He wouldn’t go for less. If he can earn more, have a possible better chance of finishing higher as well as seeing more of his family, then it’s a winner. We’d all be the same. It doesn’t often work out that way for footballers, that’s why you don’t see it often. Mowatt is in a similar position, in that he still likes to stay local to Donny - hence part of reason why he renewed his contract with us.
