sorry, only been checking up now and again on the bbc website. I do not have Sky as I believe them to be robbing bastads. IMHO when its a national game it should available to other media other than SKY. The robbing bastads have just too much of a grip on ALL sports for me. Its time the sports minister intervened for at least games involving our national teams of the UK no matter what sport. SKY are disgusting set of charlatans.
Ok fair enough, a bit of an overreaction from me but it's shere frustration. We could have had them 150 odd all out and been batting ourselves into a match winning position but instead we're under pressure late on the first day because the last two wickets have added 160ord runs. The chance's of us losing a wicket first up are high.
I'd have been more than happy with bowling them out for 284 after they won the toss and decided to bat on a decent looking wicket. But i'm not now
And breathe lol. We've got through to the close without losing a wicket. Let's see how we go tomorrow now..
I wouldn’t, I’d accept that we have a team who have generally underperformed in test when faced with good bowling, but who might just get better for the experience. Id also accept these things tend to run in cycles and no team is ever amazing forever. I’d also accept that both teams haven’t batted in this particular test as it’s day one, all without having a right girly hissy fit. Sweetheart.
Funnily enough Archer is exactly what we needed to knock the tail off, but thank god they didn’t take a chance or it could have been a disaster if he’d fallen over too. Bad decision to play Anderson it seems which could cost us heavily.
Been to Edgbaston today for the 1st day with my mate from Stourbridge- thought we were going to hammer them with them scoring less than 150 runs - at 8 & then 9 wickets down, Smith & the other 2 were excellent & we never looked like getting them out - a great day out but an uninspiring 3rd session
Root allowed them to add a 100 runs that they didn't deserve. Foot on throat and he removed slips. What Cook used to do, limited and blunted his bowlers. Up until 15:00 today performance was great, Aussies won't be so generous.
Losing Anderson so early yesterday was a huge reason they were able to turn the screw in the final session and add that extra hundred runs. You could see how tired Broad and Woakes looked, and going to Ali on a first day pitch that didn't look like turning was a huge reason the pressure the seamers had built was allowed to be released. As it stands, the chances of an England win look very bleak unless the pitch starts to deteriorate and Ali gets some sin on the ball.
Really disappointed with Anderson. He tore his calf last month and has barely played since: bad decision to play him and i would suspect he had a big say in that decision.
158/2... not too shabby. Would be great if we can be there or thereabouts with the Aussie total come close tonight hopefully with wickets intact!
