We also got an additional £750k for Conor this Summer due to Villa's promotion.

Davies was out of contract and wanted a fresh challenge and is also.on considerably higher wages.

Lindsay wanted more money but was in the final year of his contract.

    Pinnock . See Lindsay.

Moore. We are getting £4million for him. Just let that sink in.

No no, I understand his point of view but loyalty is dead & buried, it's hard to take at times.

The owners made it very clear they bought the club to follow the strategy of selling for profit and reinvesting. We’re not a club that just buys who we want, when we want for however much money we want. You only need to look at the club down the road to realize that’s not a viable strategy. Players come and players go (usually for more than what we bought them for).

12 months ago we were selling Bradshaw for a million and reinvesting it in Woodrow. 12 months on we’re talking about selling Moore for 4 million. I have no reason to doubt the owners will reinvest the money.

I can’t get my head round people who are of the view that selling our players is waving the white flag. There’s a very clear strategy of buying low, developing and selling. That’s the plan. It’s nothing new. If you’ve not grasped that by now then maybe Barnsley isn’t the club for you.

Yep, nothing confirmed officially yet. Maybe yet to agree terms, or maybe an issue with his medical?

I’d say flogging 4 of your starting 11 and buying bargain basement replacements isn’t a receipe for success. I’m happy with the business model which should be selling 1 or 2 assets per season and investing them in a higher profile development players.

As for the rest pure waffle I don’t support a business I support a team. If you’ve not grasped that yet maybe football isn’t the sport for you. .

If you’ve not grasped that football has become a business then it probably isn’t the sport for you.

Just the sort of attitude that’s ruined it. Why don’t you pop into Tesco and watch the till girls do their thing. Spoken like someone who doesn’t bother going

For me the flaw with the plan is the selling low bit. That’s what annoys me. 4m is way too low.

I see lots of people slagging Ivan Toney off, but Peterborough know how to sell players. They consistently get top dollar. We seem to sell whenever a bid of 3m plus gets waved about and then end up in the bargain bin looking for a replacement. Other clubs will not roll over as easily when we try to buy.

As for Kieffer wanting to leave, I could give a flying fig what he thinks. He is under contract, get playing.

I really don’t follow what the plan is. If we sell when players are within 12 months of contact expiry, why is Mama still here? Seems to apply to some and not others.

Very frustrating, but guess we either like it or lump it. Just hope we don’t get 3m bids in the next few days for Cauley and Alex as they will gone too.

Na it’s the attitude of someone who lives in the real world. We sell, we reinvest, we run a steady but profitable ship and develop as a club. One that I will enjoy watching (and going) for many a year.

Glad we don’t have people like you in charge otherwise I’d be popping down to tesco on Saturday afternoons with the Bolton and Bury fans.

Enjoy waving your white flag, I’ll keep waving the red one.

Yeah that and the timing are poor imo. I don’t mind selling Moore after all the jury is still out but any sort of useful replacement will take time to find their feet and be expensive.

For clarity selling Moore is neither here no there. The timing is poor and the fee is poor. The plan thus far has been an absolute failure we have changed from a reasonable Championship club to a yo-yo club. Doesn’t mean it’s the wrong plan but obviously needs some tweaks. The last 4 seasons under the plan have seen us relegated twice which is nearly as many times as the previous 44 tears I’ve been watching us.

If you think Football is just a business why don’t you support a successful business rather than our failing one. Man City they are a good business. We are a crap one. Presumably because you don’t believe that yourself.

I dont mind us selling the odd player but when its 4 and 5 and then replacing them with potential, we just start all over.
As someone stated earlier our problem (compared to other clubs) is we fail to realise the maximum amount if money for our players.

Agree TT. I've been looking over a number of sites on various forums and can't
see anything. I was given the news by a gardener at Cannon Hall yesterday.
I've spoke to him before, so he knows I'm a Red and he's not the type of lad for
    making things up.

He sounded really plausible. He said it had been announced on Sky Sports,
but I can't see anything on there. You would have thought someone from the Club would
have said something re- he's staying or could move before the deadline etc.

The only thing I've seen was a quote from Dale Tonge saying there were no fresh
approaches for him. It even says in yesterday's Chronicle that he could well start in
the team to play against Fulham. Very odd if you ask me.

I agree it’s poorly timed but it represents nearly 6x what we bought him for. So I don’t think I entirely agree it’s a poor fee. Neither of us know the ins and outs of a transfer fee. He might want to go, we might have someone we want instead, he might have a release fee clause. None of us know. So I’m not going to slate the club for selling. They know much more regarding it than I do.

If you don’t think football has become a business then that’s your issue not mine. Football has changed, you don’t have to like it, but you should accept it. Denial is a terrible thing.

I’m happy with our club. You’re seemingly unhappy with our club. Yet I should go and support Man City because I’m accepting that football has become a business? Pretty strange view point to take.

If you support a business then support a successful one. That’s pretty basic isn’t it?
