Not sure why everyone thinks Toney is so terrible. He wouldn't be my first choice to sign but to say he is worth less than a mill is a tad harsh. Loads on here reckon 4 mill is not enough for Moore yet Toney contributed more goals (16 goals, 7 assists) than Kieffer last season. Admittedly he played more games but in a worse team. I don't think he would be as bad as people make out. He seems to have improved a lot since we last had him on loan.
Because I saw him in reds shirt for a season. I also watched him at Peterborough a few times, and I’ve not changed my opinion. He’s dog ****. He wouldn’t get more than 5 goals in the Championship.
Don't think he is that amazing myself but he is not that bad. Improved a load since he was with us before and cant be that Dog **** to score 16 league goals last season.
but he wont get that in a proper leauge-championship,, wont be worth the3 asking price one bit ,, sundro or kone for me
Unlikely to get 16 in champ no but find it odd you are more desperate to sign a 19 year old lad who has yet to score 16 goals in his career over someone that has played in this country before and scored a decent amount last season. I am not saying Toney is amazing and the asnwer to our solution nor am I saying Sandro or Kone are terrible but they do pose a big risk signing them as they need to settle in a new country and neither have amazing scoring records though I am sure both have talent.
I’d rather take a chance on a 19 year old unknown then that bag of **** from Peterborough. I’d also rather pay our money to the Warsaw chairman then that Irish bag of **** from Peterborough. In fact I’d rather donate the money to charity or flush it down the toilet then give him a penny of our money. The rat.
What’s the issue with Toney? Wasn’t great for us but certainly wasn’t bad either. He was a decent enough squad player as a young lad & chipped in with a couple of important goals. Improved a lot since then as well. I watched the Portsmouth - Peterborough game that clinched our promotion & he was superb that night, looked dominant against one of the best sides in league one. It’s over 3 seasons since we had him previously, Pinnock was non-league 3 years ago for example. Young players tend to get better.
Reminds me of when I was at college during my apprenticeship. One of the older students. Was always asked for an answer to a question that none of us others knew. Teacher. :- “ What’s the answer to this question Graham.” Graham:-“ do they call me Tony sir” Teacher :- “Why’s that Graham “ Graham :- “ Cos am a Tony F—Ker here” took us aback a bit. First time we’d heard such language in front of a teacher. If we’d p.s.ed us sens laughing he might av got suspended.
We can’t afford him and shouldn’t. What we have bid is what he is worth but in today’s daft market he will go for far more.
What has him being Irish got to do with anything ... most of my family are Irish or of Irish descent ... bit offensive, no need for it.
I'd welcome him with open arms now he's matured as a player. He's a real handful for defenders and can score all types of goals.
