What’s your point? If it’s personal digs and remarks then it’s wrong, but if a player has a sh*t game and is criticised for it, then so be it.
As supporters we give credit where it’s due but the opposite must surely also apply in order to give a balanced view? I’ve seen many a supporter turn into a complete sycophant because they know a player or a player’s relative reads their content thus making certain players completely immune from criticism which is ridiculous.
So are you suggesting when players play well we can praise them but when they play badly we say nothing? They've got to take the rough with the smooth, they're playing in front of thousands of fans each week they need to have thick skin otherwise they'll get torn to shreds mentally by their own fans and opposition fans because football is a fickle business.
Unfortunately they’re in the entertainment industry and therefore in the public eye. Maybe if they can’t take criticism they’re in the wrong profession. Families also have to understand this too and I really think they will. I work with a lady who’s nephew is a professional football in league 1 and she doesn’t handle the critics too well so stays away from fans forums. It’s as simple as that really. Nothing I have read on here isn’t personal or offensive as such. But just opinions that some of our players don’t seem good enough.
We are free to make comments about poor performances. Players are very well paid & need to take the good with the bad. That said we are often too quick to criticise some of our young players, many of whom are still adapting to Championship football. If we lose a game some players are unfairly scapegoated. Sibbick would be a classic example. For me he could become a very good player for us.
I think it’s only fair when players are criticised its the ridiculous comments like “never in a million years is he a professional footballer” or “he wouldn’t get on the bench for a non-league team” that I always find annoying
Tbf if it’s his nan reading this. Never in a million years would she be a professional footballer. But if she brought her boots last night she might have got the last half an hour.
Player plays well and gets praised. Player doesn't play well and gets criticised. It's pretty straight forward and it's up to the players and their family if they choose to read a fans forum. However people have posted on here long before they arrived and will do long after they have moved on for more cash somewhere else.
Even worse when they get called w***ers or other similar names by their fans. That goes beyond the pale in my humble opinion.
Anyone who goes on any type of forum has to have an open mind The crap that comes up is sometimes insulting but take it tongue in cheek You get some slate a player and others think he was great. So how does that work
I apologise for calling Mcgeehan a ****** last night. I thought we were well in a poor game and his error lead to the opening Birmingham goal and we were good value for a point until then. After that the heads went down. Likewise it isn't the first goal we've conceeded due to Mcgeehan over playing or going backwards or sideways against Stendel's oen wishes. ( See Sheff Wed managers comments). He's a liability and needs dropping. I do take it back that he's a ****** though.
